SIMPLE PRESENT
It is used to express habits and routines. It is also used to express a fact that is always true.
When I return home, I have lunch, watch some TV and do my homework.
I sometimes go out with my friends.

Use do/don’t (I, you, we, they) and does/doesn’t (he, she, it) in interrogative and negative forms.
Wh-questions
What, which, who, when, where, why, whose and how are used to ask questions. Look at the subject-auxiliary
verb inversion when asking questions.

Verb to be + -ing
Used to talk about:
• an action that is happening at the time of speaking.
He is wearing a black jacket and a T-shirt.
• an action that is happening around now, but not at the time of speaking.

• an action that is already planned and that is going to happen in the future.
In a few hours he is meeting The Blues Brothers.
The Present Continuous is usually used with time adverbs: at the moment; now; at present; today.

Attention:
1 If the verb ends in y (with a consonant before it): study – studied
2 If the verb ends in y (with a vowel before it): play – played
3 If the verb is formed with consonant + vowel + consonant: stop – stopped
4 But: open – opened; listen – listened (non stressed syllables)
Note that the Simple Past can be used to describe habitual actions in the past.
