Introduction to the Event
The Global Forum on Fighting
Corruption is a multilateral meeting. The first
meeting of the Global Forum on Fighting
Corruption and Safeguarding Integrity between
Legal and Safety Employees was held in 1999,
in Washington DC, USA. The II Global Forum
was held in The Hague, Netherlands, in 2001,
while the III Global Forum took place in Seoul,
South Korea, in 2003.
The IV Global Forum on Fighting
Corruption - From Words to Deeds, will be held
from June 7-10, 2005, in Brasilia - Brazil, to
discuss practical and effective means for
preventing and fighting corruption.
The Global Forum is being organized
by Brazil´s Office of Comptroller General (CGU),
an agency of the Presidency of the Republic, in
cooperation with the International Committee,
the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime
(UNODC)
and
“Transparência Brasil”
(Transparency Brazil ).
Eight workshops and six panels have
been developed to promote discussions on
issues such as international conventions,
money laundering, public procurement, egovernment, corruption measurement, conflict
of interests, civil society, and corruption at the
local level.
General Information
Accreditation
To access event venues, participants must be accredited with their
identification badges and event material
Transportation
Paricipants eligible for transportation services should present their identification
badges. Transportation will be provided between the airport/hotel/
airport and hotels/event venue/hotels. Times will be posted by the event´s
organizing committee in each hotel
Copy Services
Copy services will be available at the event´s secretariat office in limited
numbers and under the conditions and restrictions established by the
Organizing Committee (Executive Secreteriat - See map)
Internet Access
