The Rio Music Conference:
Since 2009 the Rio Music Conference runs a series of electronic dance music events in several major Brazilian
cities and is to be considered today as one of most relevant EDM related event in its kind from the world.
Those RMC – as the Rio Music Conference is kindly known – events were structured upon three pillars:



Market & Trade
Art & Music
Formation & Training
In all its editions – the Main in Rio de Janeiro, during Carnival period, the 5 Regional Editions (North, Northeast,
West-Central, Southeast and South) – the RMC follows a successful model that has evolved around three streams:



Business Activities (trade show & exhibits)
Academic Activities (Q&As, workshops, panels, debates & conferences)
Live Presentations (artistic shows)
The RMC act as a marketing platform and visibility in three distinct ways:
 Business Activities & Academic Activities Platform = ideal to be sponsored by companies which brand DNA
has to do with education, human development, technology and creative economy and also needs to make
a strong relationship with the Trade of Entertainment
 Live Presentations Platform = ideal to be sponsored by companies that have their brand DNA turned to music
and targets its audience to university students, young adults, contemporary adults and young couples
 Business Opportunities Platform = ideal to be acquired by EDM companies and
EDM trade professionals, those opportunities are available in several ways
As so, anyone who’s been to any of the five previous RMC editions will attest that RMC connected to,
empathized with and truly represented the wishes and desires of all five Brazilian main regions and the
South American market as a whole within the electronic music scene.
The RMC has a crescent focus on:



content distribution and retraining professionals
discussion on the professionalization and expansion of the market
presenting new trends in music, technologies and techniques
The RMC has two main target groups:


Music Industry => agents, radio stations, nightclubs, artists, managers, labels, promoters and specialized medias
The General Public => students, young adults, contemporary adults and young couples
The RMC’s Business Activities & Academic Activities:
The RMC’s Business & Academic Activities are conducted in all RMC’s Regional Editions and, as well, in its Main Edition
and they are always the best opportunity for companies and music professionals that need to communicate with their
different audiences in all its different phases.
The Business Activities are a unique chance for those who wish to get noted and that is why they are geared
exclusively for conducting business and creating a nationwide network, ideal for professionals and/or service
providers of the trade who wish to increase their market share in both Brazil and Latin America.
On the RMC’s Academic Activities (Conferences, Q&As, Panels and Workshops) the audience is presented to debates
on relevant market issues, to new techniques, new trends, new equipment and new technologies by EDM industry
leaders and always with a lot of experience sharing and even special forums with entrepreneurs, promoters,
producers, agencies, artists and DJs from around the world.
The RMC’s Live Performances:
To date more than 120 DJs & Artists have played at previous RMC’s festival nights such as Tiësto, Erick Morillo,
Luciano, Armin Van Buuren, Sven Vath, Loco Dice, Pete Tong, David Guetta, Fatboy Slim, Steve Angello, Axwell,
Kaskade, Booka Shade, Trentemøller, Dubfire, Dave Clarke, Bob Sinclair, Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas & like Mike, just to
name a few.
The RMC’s Ambassadors:
Brazil is the 7th largest world economy, the 5th largest country in area in all the world, almost 200 million inhabitants
and it is divided into five main regions: Northern, Northeastern, Central-Western, Southern and Southeastern.
As a result of that diversity, the needs, wishes and desires of local agents, radio stations, nightclubs, artists,
managers, promoters and specialized media from each of these regions vary greatly from one another.
For that reason the RMC has appointed 920 local ambassadors to act in each one of these five main regions and
connected to the dance music industry whose mission it is to be link up the RMC and the local music industry,
creating a true bond between the event and the area in which the Ambassador acts and where its Regional Editions
actually take place.
The RMC Awards:
The idea of the RMC Awards was born in recognition of excellence within both Brazilian and South American electronic
music industry: based on the assumption that popularity is not synonymous with excellence, the RMC curators shall
indicate which candidates will run and the voting will be made only by RMC ambassadors.
In other words, professionals will evaluate professionals in determining the winners.
The RMC Annual:
RMC’s official publication “The Annual” is of fundamental importance for those who operate in different areas of this
industry: in one hand it summarize past RMCs and other key global electronic music events, while on the other
feature interviews with noted professionals, celebrities, entrepreneurs as well the story behind each one of the
winners from the third edition "RMC Awards”.
It has always been published in both Portuguese and English and has 10,000 copies and circa of 200 pages.

upon which dozens of nightclubs in the city offer discounts and advantages to its participants, from the Welcome
Party up to the last night of the RMC Festival at Carnival.
Such initiative has been produced for engage clubs and nightclubs in the largest gathering of electronic music of
South America, turning them into co-hosts of the event: during this last Main Edition were more than 30 locations,
from various profiles.
The RMC’s Regional Editions, from October to January:
The five Regional Editions (Northern, Northeastern, Central-Western, Southern and Southeastern) are produced in
Brazil’s main cities – from the most important states and regions – and they follow the RMC’s model that has evolved
around 3 streams: Live Presentations, Business Activities (trade show & exhibits) and Academic Activities (workshops,
panels, Q&As, debates & conferences)
Over the course of these events the RMC interacts with the local industry in order to obtain a clearer idea of their
interests, demands and expectations that could allow it to open up new business prospects and opportunities for
the companies that shall attend these Regional Editions as well to the Main Edition during Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival.
