Computational Intelligence (CI) is a rapidly
expanding research field, attracting a large number
of scientists, engineers and practitioners working in
areas such as fuzzy systems, neural networks,
machine learning and evolutionary computation.
Also, a growing number of companies are
employing CI techniques to improve previous
solutions and to deal with new problems.
30th, 2008, 00:00 BRST. The address is:

which is the same paper submission address used
for SBRN'2008. Submission is a three-step process.
In a first step authors are required to register as
new authors with JEMS (note that only 1 registration
is needed if you submit more than 1 paper). After

• Marcílio C. P. de Souto (UFRN, Brazil)
Reviewing Process
• Marley Vellasco (PUC-RJ, Brazil)
• Renato Tinós (FFCLRP/USP, Brazil)
All papers received will be cross-reviewed by at
• Geovany Araújo Borges (UFPE, Brazil)
least two referees in the topical area.
• Roseli Francelin Romero (ICMC/USP, Brazil)
• Teresa B. Ludermir (UFPE, Brazil)
SUBMISSION POLICY
be *excluded* from the reviewing process.
Obligation to present in case of acceptance
Papers submitted to WCI 2008 should present
substantial new results in theoretical, empirical and
applied research in one or more of the Conference
topics. Papers written in english, spanish and
portuguese can be submitted.
By submitting papers to WCI 2008, the authors
agree that in case of acceptance at least one author
registers to the conference and presents the paper.
Furthermore, it is the conference policy that at least
one of the authors of accepted papers has to
register *before* the deadline for sending the
