Call for Workshop Papers II Workshop on Computational Intelligence (WCI'2008) October 26-30, 2008 - Salvador - Brazil http://www.sbia2008.ufba.br/sbia_workshops.php at International Joint Conference SBIA/SBRN October, 26- 30, 2008 http://www.sbia2008.ufba.br Computational Intelligence (CI) is a rapidly expanding research field, attracting a large number of scientists, engineers and practitioners working in areas such as fuzzy systems, neural networks, machine learning and evolutionary computation. Also, a growing number of companies are employing CI techniques to improve previous solutions and to deal with new problems. 30th, 2008, 00:00 BRST. The address is: https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/sbrn2008 which is the same paper submission address used for SBRN'2008. Submission is a three-step process. In a first step authors are required to register as new authors with JEMS (note that only 1 registration is needed if you submit more than 1 paper). After The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum for registration as author the login data will be sent to the academic community and industry to share the specified email address. This data can be used ideas about developing new techniques and to access the system. Once logged in, authors have applications using CI technique-based systems and to select the WCI'2008 track to submit papers to exchange views. WCI'2008. Another goal of the WCI is to promote a wider In a second step the authors have to register their participation of graduate students in the event with paper. The authors are asked in this step to specify ongoing work in the area of CI. the name of the authors, the paper title, its topics and the paper category (regular, student): these categories are exactly the same, except for the fact Non-exaustive List of Topics that the first author is a student or not. The system • Evolutionary Computation will then assign a tracking ID to each submission • Fuzzy Systems which is sent to the contact author. The deadline for • Machine Learning paper registration is July 6th., 23:00 BRST. • Neural Networks • Applications: The third step consists on uploading the paper. This • Aerospace systems step can be done jointly with the registering step. • Bioinformatics For those authors who prefer to upload their papers • Industrial and mobile robotics after registering, the tracking ID must be used. Obligation to present in case of acceptance Papers submitted to WCI 2008 should present substantial new results in theoretical, empirical and applied research in one or more of the Conference topics. Papers written in english, spanish and portuguese can be submitted. By submitting papers to WCI 2008, the authors agree that in case of acceptance at least one author registers to the conference and presents the paper. Furthermore, it is the conference policy that at least one of the authors of accepted papers has to register *before* the deadline for sending the camera-ready paper.
