From Your Pastor……………………………………………………
Dear Members and Friends of HSK,
Do you think we have had enough rain
these past few days? I think we need a
lot of sunshine now and hopefully those
sunny days are not too far away. In the
meantime, let’s enjoy the new flowers and
the plants with their new green leaves.
For several weeks I have not been able
to forget the truth the Holy Spirit has
been speaking to us.
Almost every
Monday morning I get up with so many
thoughts about the message I shared with
you the previous day. And the thoughts
do not go away until sometime on Friday
or Saturday. Is this a good experience or
not a good experience?
I’m not sure
about the answer to that question but if
the truth is making me think more about
how great our God is, I want to get up on
Monday with more thoughts about the
message!
In a book I recently read written by
an American pastor, he wrote about
complacency. But his explanation of the
word was not ‘becoming satisfied with
doing something evil’.
It was not
‘becoming bored with something that is
good’. Rather complacency, he wrote, is
ceasing to grow, staying the same, not
expecting to change. He wrote, ‘God is
not limited to what we’re currently
experiencing or how we’ve know Him in
the past…If there is anything I know
about God and the Christian walk, it’s that
God will always require the big leap from
us, a step of faith’ (Chris Hodges, ‘Fresh
Air’, cp 14). Let’s avoid complacency.
Let’s leap with faith!
Sometimes a couple will enter our
church holding hands. You may see the
wife whisper something in her husband’s
ear and he will appear embarrassed. He
may whisper something in his wife’s ear
and she will begin to laugh. As they listen
to the message you may see her looking
at her husband’s face. I approve of this
display of affection between a husband
and wife in our church.
And I want
everyone to know this:
I hope more
couples will hold hands and make each
other smile and laugh. Let’s experience
the love of God more! Let’s experience
more of the joy of the Lord!
If you were here last Sunday morning
you saw me suddenly change interpreters.
For a few seconds I felt a little nervous
because I really did not know what was
going to happen after Satomi-san left the
room. But I can honestly say that I had
much more peace. Why? Because you
began to wait for an answer from heaven.
Thank you so much for believing that our
Heavenly Father is really the pastor. Yes,
this sudden situation could happen again
but I believe the Lord has already
prepared the solution.
I want to say a big ‘Thank You’ to
Satomi-san and Yuko-san for translating
the church bulletin each week. The
translation can easily require several
hours of their time.
Their
work is a big blessing to this
church I think.
Next Sunday we will eat
outside for the first time this
year. I look forward to good food and
very good fellowship. God bless you

This Saturday Night(25th)…the next
Portuguese language class at HSK will
begin at 7 PM and the English

Yukio-san is the Portuguese

Your copy of ‘Who is an HSK disciple
of Christ’…can be found in the
SKI stand today. Please be sure
and read this carefully.
Your
pastor believes this explanation
of a disciple of Christ will give a
good understanding about how we should
live as Christians.
Next Sunday(26th)…everyone is invited
to stay for a delicious meal immediately
following morning meeting.
And..this will be a BBQ in the
church parking area!
Your
friend is welcome to eat with you. The
price for everyone excluding kindergarten
children and younger will be ¥500 each.
The children’s lunch will be only ¥300.
There will be a Youth Event…at HSK
this Friday night (24th) beginning at 7:30
PM. Youth leaders are so happy to see the
HSK youth becoming
stronger Christians. Please
continue to ask the Lord to
give the leaders wisdom for
all the things they want to
do. (There will not be a prayer meeting or
Bible class this Friday night.)

command of God which He
spoke to the first Christians,

O u r c h u r c h t r e a s u r e r,
Matsuo Mieko-san, has prepared the monthly church
financial report for everyone’s examination; March
16th. - April 15th. Copies of
the financial report can be
found in the SKI stand. The
church tithe for March/April
was ¥56,000. Many thanks
to all who have given to
HSK. May God bless you

Prayer Requests………………………………………………………………………..
The camp has been reserved for the
summer youth event but…other plans need
to be made soon. Please pray for the
youth camp leaders this week.
This friend of Marcus-san needs prayer,
Candice-san. She needs a big portion of
God’s love. Probably many other girls and
women need the same thing. Let’s pray
for all of them.
Ruth-san has another cough which she
does not like. Please ask our Heavenly
Father for good health for her. And you
know others who need good health. Let’s
believe for healing miracles this week.
Two mothers in our church need better
jobs now. Please ask the Lord to help
them. Maybe you know of about a good
job for them. Please talk to our pastor if
you have an idea for helping these
mothers.
Too many nations are still in the middle
of civil wars. Christians are dying in these
wars.
Please ask the Lord to protect
Christians at all times.
Some HSK youth carry big burdens.
They have to study hard. They have to
work. They need our encouragement and
God’s help. Let’s pray for all youth this
week.
Who will once again ask the Lord to
give us a bigger place to meet in? Who
will ask the Lord to make it a place which
is easy to enter?
Please ask the Lord to bless Trumansan and family in China. They hope to
move in the near future. They need God’s
wisdom for sharing His love with others.

Thoughts to ponder……From the book: Strengthen Yourself in the Lord
By: Bill Johnson……Chapter 6: “Possessed By Promises”
‘When you are born again, you inherit
every promise of God for the believer.
Peter tells us that these, “great and
precious promises” are the things that
make us “partakers of the divine
nature” ( 2 Peter 1:4)—-they unlock our
potential to become like Christ. But we
don’t truly possess these promises until
three things happen. We first begin to
possess a promise when it is spoken into
our hearts by the Holy Spirit. The Holy
Spirit takes what is Christ’s and declares it
to us, telling us things to come (John
16:13-14). The declaration of the Spirit is
what places the promises of the Kingdom
into our account.…
It is impossible for God to lie. His Word
is always in complete agreement with His
nature and character, and therefore His
ve r y w o r d s r e l e a s e H i s p o w e r t o
accomplish what He has said.
This latent power in the promises of God
increases our understanding of why we
can trust the faithfulness of the One who
promises. And a practical demonstration
of trust is precisely the next thing that
needs to happen for you to possess your
promises. Thankfully, you don’t need to
understand the Word in order to show the
Lord that you trust His Word as truth. You
start moving down the railroad track to
your destiny by simply receiving the Word.
The third thing is that your faith in the
promise must be tested and proven. Paul
gave this instruction to Timothy, “This
charge I commit to you, according to the
prophecies made concerning you, that by
them you may wage a good warfare” (I
Tim 1:18). When the Holy Spirit declares
a promise to you, He has also put a
weapon into your arsenal. The enemy will
challenge but like Jesus did, may we stand
on the promise of the Father. He knew that
Father’s Word over His life was true and
He knew He had heard the Word and
received it…’

De Seu Pastor……………………………………………………
Caros membros e amigos da HSK,
Você acha que nós tivemos bastante
chuva nos últimos dias? Acho que
precisamos de muito sol agora e espero
que os dias ensolarados não estejam muito
longe. Nesse meio tempo, vamos aproveitar
as novas flores e as plantas com as suas
novas folhas verdes.
Durante várias semanas, eu não tenho
sido capaz de esquecer a verdade do
Espírito Santo que tem falado para nós.
Quase a cada manhã eu levanto-me com
tantos pensamentos sobre a mensagem
que eu compartilhei com vocês no dia
anterior. E os pensamentos não vão
embora até sexta-feira e sábado. Será esta
uma boa experiência ou não? Eu não tenho
certeza sobre a resposta a essa pergunta,
mas se a verdade está me fazendo pensar
mais sobre como é grande o nosso Deus, é,
eu quero levantar nas segunda-feiras com
mais pensamentos sobre as mensagens!
Em um livro que eu li recentemente escrito
por um pastor americano, ele escreveu
sobre a complacência. Mas a sua explicação
da palavra não era "tornar-se satisfeito em
fazer algo mal". Não foi "tornar-se
aborrecido com algo que é bom". Em vez
disso a complacência, diz, que a pessoa
está deixando de crescer, permanecendo o
mesmo, não esperando mudar. Ele
escreveu: "Deus não se limita ao que
estamos experimentando atualmente ou
como nós conhecê-lo no passado ... Se
existe alguma coisa que eu sei sobre Deus
e da caminhada cristã, é que Deus sempre
exigirá o grande salto de nós , um passo de
fé "(Chris Hodges," ar fresco ", cp 14).
Vamos evitar a complacência. Vamos pular
com fé!!
Às vezes, um casal vai entrar na nossa
igreja de mãos dadas. Você pode ver a
esposa sussurrar algo no ouvido de seu
marido e ele vai aparecer envergonhado.
Ele pode sussurrar algo no ouvido de sua
esposa e ela vai começar a rir. Como eles
escutam a mensagem que você pode vê-la
olhando para o rosto do marido. Estou de
acordo com essa demonstração de afeto
entre marido e mulher em nossa igreja. E
eu quero que todos saibam o seguinte: eu
espero que mais casais vão dar as mãos e
f a z e r o o u t r o s o r r i r e r i r. Va m o s
experimentar o amor de Deus mais! Vamos
experimentar mais da alegria do Senhor!
Se você esteve aqui no domingo passado
você viu que mudou de intérprete de
repente. Por alguns segundos eu senti um
pouco nervoso, porque eu realmente não
sabia o que ia acontecer depois que a
Satomi deixou a sala. Mas eu posso dizer
honestamente que eu tinha muita paz. Por
quê? Porque você começou a esperar por
uma resposta do céu. Muito obrigado por
acreditar que o Pai Celestial é realmente o
nosso pastor. Sim, esta situação súbita
pode acontecer de novo, mas eu creio que
o Senhor já preparou a solução.
Eu quero dizer 'obrigada' para Satomi e
Yuko por traduzir o boletim da igreja a cada
semana. A tradução pode facilmente exigir
várias horas de seu tempo. Seu trabalho é
uma grande bênção para a igreja.
No próximo domingo vamos comer fora
pela primeira vez este ano. Estou ansioso
por uma boa refeição e bons
momentos de companheirismo.
