One more “Butterfly” executed brutally!
“Basta Um Dia” estreiou no dia dia 16 de outubro de 2006 no
Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil às 18:00 horas com
convidados, representantes comunitários, ONGs diversas,
políticos, ativistas, e os atores sociais, os quais voluntáriamente
participaram de todo processo do filme documentário.
“Living Day By Day” premiered on October 16, 2006 at the
Cultural Center of the Banco do Brasil at 6pm, invitees
including community representative, diverse NGOs,
politicians, activists, and other social actors, many of whom
voluntarily participated in the process of making the film.
Neste exato momento às 18:00 horas, muitas das travestis que
estão no filme, não puderam comparecer a estréia.
At this time, at 6pm, many transvestites featured in the film
were not able to appear in person.
Motivo? Reason why?
Necessicitavam de estar no trabalho ao cair da noite na Via
Dutra. Mais uma longa jornada noite a dentro!
O filme teve a sua estréia gloriosa! Discurso de agradecimentos
e protesto contra os crimes de ódio contra homossexuais no
Brasil e no mundo!
They needed to be at work at night fall at the Dutra Highway.
Another long journey through the night!
The film had a glamorous opening! It is an expression of
gratitude for everybody who was involved in the film and of
protest against hate crimes against homosexuals in Brazil and
around the world!
Repito, “naquele exato momento” uma das atrizes-sociaistravestis era barbaramente assassinda na Via Dutra...
Assassinada com vários tiros no corpo inteiro.
I repeat, “at this very moment” one of the actresses, a
transvestite, was brutally murdered at the Dutra Highway…
killed with several gun shots throughout her body.
Na quarta-feira, 18 de outubro, dois dias após a estreia do
filme, para a nossa tristeza e perplexidade estava estampada
uma fotografia na primeira capa do jornal da Baixada
Fluminense HORA H – O Melhor Diário Popular a foto dessa
menina exposta na sarjeta a beira da Via Dutra com a sua
bolsa revirada e por ironia do destino com muitos
preservativos espalhados entre o sangue e a lama.
Wednesday, October 18, two days after the premier of the film,
sadly we found the actress on the front page of a the local
newspaper of the Fluminense Valley HORA H – O Melhor
Diário Popular. The photograph shows the girl lying on gutter
lining the sidewalk, alongside the Dutra Highway, with her
purse turned inside-out – ironically with several condoms
scattered in between the blood and the mud.
Manchete: UMA QUASE MULHER EXECUTADA NA
DUTRA!
The headline: AN ALMOST WOMAN EXECUTED AT THE
DUTRA!
Até a manchete é triste com uma matéria sem açucar e sem
afeto... uma matéria lamentável!
The headline is morose and bereft of sensitivity… an atrocious
act of journalism.
O jornal descreve esse crime como sendo mais uma simples
rotina jornalística sem nenhum interesse pelo social, por vidas
que são executadas barbaramente todos os dias, por pessoas de
índole perversa e pequena.
The newspaper describes this crime with routine journalistic
banality, without social cause or interest in those brutally
murdered everyday by people with perverse mentalities.
Fico a indagar-me com uma profunda tristeza e revolta.
This leads me to inquire further with profound sadness and
with the will to act against such crimes.
Teria essa menina sido assassinada, caso ela tivesse vindo a
estréia do seu filme “Basta Um Dia”, o qual deixa registrado a
sua vida cotidiana na via Presidente Dutra?
Would this girl have been assassinated, if she had participated
in the premiere of her film “Living Day by Day”, where her
daily life on the Presidente Dutra Highway is registered?
Naquele exato momento ela estava a caminho de uma noite sem
retorno. para ser executada na sua rotina de vida a beira da
sordida Via Dutra.
In this exact moment, she was on a road without return –
although, for her, the sordid danger of the Dutra highway was
mere routine.
Não sabemos, não sei, os mais conformados diriam que foi o
destino. Mas eu tenho as minhas dúvidas, a minha profunda
tristeza, o meu pesar e a minha indignação.
We do not know (I don’t know.) if this is something we
fatalistically could consider her “destiny”. But I have my
doubts, my profound sadness, my desolation and indignation.
Que a proxíma vida de Nália seja um lugar aonde ela não
necessite sair todas as noite para lugares como a Via Presidente
Dutra da Baixada Fluminese para poder no dia seguinte
comprar o seu pão de cada dia.
That the next life of Nália be a place where she does not need to
go out every night to places like the Presidente Dutra Highway
in the Fluminense Valley to sell herself for her daily bread.
Que as forças positivas esteja com ela, com todas as outras
meninas da Dutra e conosco.
That positive forces be with her, and with all of the other girls
working on the Dutra Highway and with us.
As nossas lutas não podem ser em vão!
