PAULO ZEREU was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Bachelor of Music and Professor at the Rio Grande do
Sul State University. Post-graduate studies at the
Kraków Academy of Music. Studies at the University
of Music Karlsruhe, Cologne University of Music and
Akademie für MusikPädagogik. Won several prizes in
International Piano Competitions. Has given several
courses in Piano Interpretation, Technique and
Performance in Brazil, Germany and Asia. Piano and
Chamber Music Lecturer at the Department of Music
Performance at Assumption University, Thailand.
Performed with the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra,
the Orchestra of the University of Heidelberg, the
Youth Orchester of Bangkok, and in solo recitals, as a
chamber musician and as a “Lied” accompanist.
TIAGO NETO was born in Lisbon, Portugal. Finalist
and first-prize winner of ‘Jeunesses Musicales’,
Portuguese Young Musician of the Year, Aberdeen
International Youth Festival. PhD in Violin
Performance at the University of Sheffield with
“Excellent” mention. Performed in United Kingdom
(Royal College of Music), Hungary (Zoltán Kodály
Orchestra), Holland (Hoger Instituut), France
(Culturel Calouste Gulbenkian), Austria, Germany,
Spain, Belgium, Italy and China. First violinist of the
Lusiada String Quartet, the Musicalis Violin and Cello
Duo. Founding member of the In Tempo Piano Trio
and the Fernando Costa String Quartet. Concertmaster
of the string orchestra Novo Círculo de Cultura
Musical. Professor of Violin at the Instituto
Gregoriano de Lisboa.
The Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries – CPLP
Established on 17 July 1996, CPLP has legal personality and is independent financially. The Organization has as general
objectives:
- The political and diplomatic coordination between its member states, particularly to strengthen its presence in the
international arena;
- The cooperation in all fields, including education, health, science and technology, defense, agriculture, public
administration, communications, justice, public security, culture, sports and media;
- The realization of projects for the promotion and dissemination of the Portuguese language.
The total area occupied by the eight Member States (Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, East Timor, Guine-Bissau, Mozambique,
Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe) amounts to over 10 million sqkm of land, spread over four continents. With around 240
million speakers, Portuguese is the sixth-most spoken language in the world.
Heads of State of the CPLP countries have met in seven Summits in the past twelve years. Within its framework, parliaments
and organisations of the civil society have developed common programmes in all areas of interest to facilitate further
contacts and cooperation between citizens of Portuguese-speaking countries.
