A scented journey with all of Marc Levy's trademarks, from the plot to the poetic details, and characters. What I
like about this book is the way he filled every pages with scents, I can see drops of them in the air, or feel them in
my nose, all are very enjoyable imaginations. I even kinda fell in love with Istanbul, a place I've never known
before. Humid London or colorful Istanbul, both were shown at an impressive level of vividness and beauty.
However I would not consider this as my favourite cup of tea. The story started out quite attractive and mysterious
and kept us reading, but it got plain as it progressed. I mean it became predictable, and I see all familiar details
everywhere. The behaviors of the characters, the thinking path, the letters between characters...they're just...there.
Like all other books of him. After a while reading back and forth letters, I got tired and wanted to skip some pages
and skim for details more than just description and daily life details. For me there was not a good tight knot, as I
expected from Marc Levy's books. Maybe I'm being picky, but I don't feel enough with the ending, many parts are
still unclear and, I feel like he rushed to the ending, without perfecting it. I think readers' patience would be tested,
yeah, who wouldnt, if after 2/3 of the book having no clue of significant twist, and then everything was revealed
and get done within the last 1/3? I didn't find any catch phrase to remember, as well as the logical reasons and
new things to be amazed.
In short, rating for the writing skill that brings alive scenes and smells and tastes, but does not awake the

A Alice vive sozinha em Inglaterra e tem um vizinho chamado Daldry. Ela é criadora de perfumes e ele um pintor.
Por casualidade de vizinhança, conhecem-se. O dialogo entre os dois é interessante, educado, humorístico e
limpo. Os defeitos entre os dois sobressaem com encanto e naturalidade.
Foi delicioso e divertido viajar com estas personagens à Turquia, um pais que me é desconhecido. Fiquei a
conhecer Pera Palas Hotel onde Agatha Christie tinha um quarto habitual, senti-me contagiado pela simpatia dos
turcos, e fiquei bêbado de curiosidade com a comida tradicional deste país. Pouco sabia da queda do Império
Otomano, mas o autor tão bem o simplificou, que me senti mais rico a nível de cultura.
Gostei muito desta história, porque valorizo este tipo de amizade, infelizmente escassa hoje em dia.|A Estranha

A narrativa encontra-se coberta por um véu tão opaco quanto transparente que aguça a curiosidade crescente de
saber mais sobre personagens tão reveladoras quando misteriosas que, finalmente, se permitem olhar o mundo e
descobrir o significado de se estar vivo.
Com um final absolutamente arrebatador e surpreendente, esta é uma história que prima pela emoção que
transmite, pelos sentimentos discrepantes que vão fluindo para o leitor que, cadenciadamente, descobre o
passado, teme o presente e ansiará, tal como os protagonistas, no final, pelo futuro.

AMEI este livro, misterioso, aromático, interessante! Os personagens, a subtileza da história, as encantadoras
viagens que no fundo equivalem à busca de si mesmo, à descoberta do próprio SER. Inspirador, bem escrito, este
livro levaria qualquer leitor a querer fazer as malas e partir para o universo nele descrito... Absolutamente uma
leitura a não perder!
Maria Carmo|I was really excited for this one. I've read all of this new books since 'Toutes ces choses qu'on ne s'est
pas dites'. In my opinion, that book was far better than this one. Usually I find with Marc Levy's novels is that they
take time to pick up. This one I found it was exciting from the start. As I kept reading I started getting bored, I felt
it was too predictable. I figured out the ending very quickly. I didn't enjoy the rest of the book. I was actually
disappointed. I think this book would be great for Hollywood and would make a great motion picture that might
even beat the book. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
