Sonae is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors, at a Board meeting held earlier today, approved
the co-option of Bernd Hubert Joachim Bothe, as an independent non-executive member of the Board.
This co-option fills the vacancy resulting from the resignation of Luíz Felipe Palmeira Lampreia, which was
announced to the market on 3 March 2008.
As required under the Portuguese Companies Act, the ratification of this co-option will be included in the
agenda of the 2009 Shareholders’ Annual General Meeting.
