Doctor of Philosophy in Economics (Phd) by The University of Nottingham. The thesis “Factor Content of Vertical and Horizontal Intra-industry Trade” was submitted in November of 2003, and the viva voce examination was held on 20 February 2004. Professor Chris Milner and Professor Rod Falvey of The University of Nottingham were the supervisors. 1996. Master in Applied Economics (Mestrado em Economia Aplicada) of the School of Economics of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with a classification of 17 (out of 20). The title of the thesis is “Determinants of Intra-industry trade in the Portuguese trade - 1986 to 1993”. 1992. First Degree in Economics by Universidade Nova de Lisboa with a final classification of 14 (out of 20). III – PROFISSIONAL SITUATION Present (since 2004) Lecturer (Professor Auxiliar) in the department of Economics of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Minho. In the last three years lectured courses of European Economics, Economic Policies of the European Union, Theory of Economic Integration and International Economics, to students of the 2nd and 3rd years of the degree in Economics and of 3rd and 4th year of the Degree in International Relations, and of the 4th year of the degree in International Business. Also taught the courses of International Trade Theory of the Master in International Economics (in 2003 and 2004), and that of International Trade in the Master in Economics (2005 and 2006), and a course of Economics in the Masters in Management (2007). 2007 (and 2004) Lecturer in the Universidade Nacional de Timor Lorosae (Timor Leste), from March to May of 2004 and from May to August of 2007, integrated in the cooperation project of Fundação das Universidades Portuguesas, sponsored by the Portuguese Government. 2001-04(and 1994-96) Lecturer (Assistente) in the Department of Economics of University of Minho.
