Presidente José Eduardo dos Santos alerta que ano 2015 será difícil
O Presidente da República, José Eduardo dos Santos, disse no
dia 29 de Dezembro de 2014, em Luanda que o ano de 2015 "será
difícil" no plano económico por causa da queda significativa do
preço do petróleo bruto.
A afirmação do Chefe de Estado Angolano foi feita quando dirigia
uma Mensagem de Ano Novo à Nação, alertando que "algumas
despesas públicas serão reduzidas, como por exemplo os
subsídios aos preços dos combustíveis".
"Há projectos que serão adiados e vão ser reforçados o controlo
das despesas do Estado e a disciplina e parcimónia na gestão
orçamental e financeira, para que se mantenha a estabilidade. A
política de combate à pobreza, no entanto, não será alterada",
esclareceu o estadista angolano.
Como restabelecer a todos os níveis, e a partir da primeira
infância, a educação moral, cívica e patriótica? Questionou o
Presidente da República, salientando que este "é um assunto que
os ministérios da Educação e da Cultura devem estudar".

"Os longos anos de conflito desestruturaram por completo a
sociedade e levaram à desintegração e desajustamento familiar. É
necessário, pois, um grande esforço para voltarmos ao respeito
pelos valores e princípios que caracterizavam a sociedade
angolana no passado", frisou.
O Chefe de Estado destacou ainda a necessidade de se preservar
os valores e princípios como o tratamento honroso dos
mais-velhos, a protecção natural da criança e dos portadores de
deficiência, a assistência social, o espírito de solidariedade e
entre-ajuda, a convivência harmoniosa entre vizinhos, o respeito
e preservação dos bens comuns, o amor à terra e às suas gentes
que tantos dos nossos poetas e escritores enalteceram.
Tudo isso, segundo o Presidente José Eduardo dos Santos, só
será possível com a assunção consciente do seu papel nesse
processo por parte de cada cidadão, das famílias, da Sociedade
Civil, das Igrejas e do Estado.

The Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, said on 29th
December 2014, in Luanda, that 2015 will be a difficult year in the
economic plan because of the meaningful drop of the price of the
crude oil.
The Angolan Head of State said so when addressing to the Nation
a Message of New Year, alerting that “some public expenses will
be reduced, such as the subsidies to the fuel prices”.
"There are projects that will be postponed and it will be
reinforced the control of the state expenditures, discipline and
saving in the budget and financial management, so as to keep the
stability. The policy of fighting against poverty, however, will be
changed ", clarified the Angolan statesman.
How to restore at all levels, and from early childhood, the moral,
civic and patriotic education? Asked the President, highlighting
that this "is a matter that the Ministries of Education and Culture
should study."
"The long years of conflict fully de-structured the society and led
to the disintegration and family maladjustment. It is necessary,
therefore, a great effort to return to the respect for the values and
principles that characterized the Angolan society in the past," he
said.
The Head of State also highlighted the need preserving the values
and principles of honourable treatment of older persons, natural
protection of children and disabled people, social assistance,
spirit of back-up solidarity, harmonious coexistence among
neighbours, respect and preservation of commons goods and love
for land and its people that so many of our poets and writers
glorified.
He said that this will only be possible with the assumption of the
mind of its role in this process by each citizen, of families, of the
Civil Society, Churches and the State.
When finished his speech the head of State of the Angolan Nation
sent a word of affection and appreciation to all who are ill or
otherwise unable to celebrate worthily these days of collective
parties wishing them vote for a speedy recovery and all the best.

Uruguay
O Presidente da República, José Eduardo dos Santos, felicitou o
seu homólogo do Uruguay, Tabares Vázques, pela sua recente
eleição.
Numa mensagem a si endereçada, soube-se no dia 19 de
Novembro de 2014 em Luanda, José Eduardo dos Santos
formulou “votos de felicidade e êxito no cumprimento do seu
nobre mandato”.
“Apraz-me manifestar-lhe o desejo do Governo Angolano de
continuar a ampliar e fortalecer os laços de amizade e cooperação
entre os nossos dois países, na certeza de que resultarão
benefícios reciprocamente vantajosos”, acrescenta a missiva.

The
President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos,
congratulated his counterpart from Uruguay, Vázquez Tabares,
on his recent election.
It was learnt on 19th December 2014, that in a message addressed
to him, Jose Eduardo dos Santos wished him “happiness and
success in fulfilling his noble mandate."
"I am pleased to express to you the desire of the Angolan
Government to continue to expand and strengthen the bonds of
friendship and cooperation between our two countries, in the
certainty that result mutually beneficial benefits," adds the letter.

Presidente recebe
mensagem de
homólogo do Congo

ma mensagem do Presidente da República do Congo, Dennis
Sassou Nguesso, para o seu homólogo angolano José Eduardo
dos Santos, foi entregue no dia 22 de Dezembro de 2014, no
Palácio Presidencial, em Luanda.
Fez a entrega da missiva, cujo teor se desconhece, o Ministro do
Interior e da Descentralização do Congo, Raymond Mboulou, na
qualidade de enviado especial do líder congolês.
Abordado pela imprensa, no final da audiência concedida pelo
Chefe de Estado Angolano, o dirigente referiu que “Angola e o
Congo, sendo países da mesma região, têm a necessidade de
contactos periódicos entre os dois presidentes".
"Dentro da região existem problemas que merecem atenção dos
integrantes da região e urge a necessidade de serem resolvidos e
os dois estadistas estão empenhados a levar avante as
resoluções dos mesmos, com destaque para os existentes na
República Centro -Africana", esclareceu.
Raymond Mboulou destacou ainda as "excelentes relações"
existentes entre os dois países, tendo recordado que a situação
ocorrida a nível de fronteiras há alguns meses, entre Angola e
Congo, está ultrapassada.

A resolução desse diferendo, explicou, deveu-se à iniciativa do
Presidente José Eduardo dos Santos, que "deu solução ao caso".
Frisou que a nível de comissões tem havido reuniões constantes
e por isso este problema não pode constituir empecilho nas
relações entre ambo o líder do Congo Dennis Sassou Ngeusso
como actual mediador para o alcance da paz, estabilidade e
segurança neste país, Raymond Mboulou frisou que a situação de
paz na RCA é uma preocupação mundial e sobretudo dos estados
africanos .

Precisou que depois dos passos já dados espera-se por outros,
porque a preocupação é que a paz volte à RCA.
Adiantou que todos os esforços estão a ser feitos e no próximo
mês de Janeiro de 2015 está prevista uma reunião na República
Centro-Africana, entre as partes envolvidas no conflito interno,
para se encontrar soluções.
A RCA, onde actualmente a situação é considerada calma, esteve
mergulhada há meses num conflito inter-religioso, que causou
muitas vítimas e milhares de refugiados.

Message From the
Congolese Counterpart
A message from the President of the Republic of Congo, Dennis
Sassou Nguesso, to his Angolan counterpart, José Eduardo dos
Santos, was delivered on 22nd December 2014, at the
Presidential Palace, in Luanda.
The letter whose content is unknown was delivered by Minister
of the Interior and Decentralization of the Congo, Raymond
Mboulou, acting as a special envoy of the Congolese leader.
Approached by the press at the end of the audience granted by
the Angolan Head of State, the official said that "Angola and the
Congo, and countries in the same region, have the need for
regular contacts between the two presidents."
"Within the region there are problems which deserve the
attention of members of the region and it is urgent to resolve
them and the two statesmen are committed to take forward the
resolutions, especially the ones that exist in the Central African
Republic," he explained.
Raymond Mboulou also highlighted the "excellent relations"
existing between the two countries and recalled that the
situation occurred at border level a few months, between Angola
and Congo, was over.
The resolution of this dispute, he explained, was due to the
initiative of President Jose Eduardo dos Santos, who "gave
solution to the case."
He stressed that there have been constant meetings and so this
problem cannot be an obstacle in relations between the two
countries, "said the Congolese minister.
Situation in the Central African Republic (CAR)
Asked on the current situation in the Central African Republic,
mediated by the Congolese leader, Dennis Sassou Ngeusso , for
the achievement of peace, stability and security in this country,
Raymond Mboulou stressed that the situation of peace in CAR is
a global concern and specially for the African states.
He stated that after the steps already taken, they are waiting for
the others, because the concern is that the peace returns to CAR.

Republic, between the parties involved in the internal conflict, in
order to find solutions.
The CAR, where the current situation is considered calm, was
immersed for months in an inter-religious conflict, which
resulted in many victims and thousands of refugees.

Presidente da Namíbia
O Chefe de Estado angolano, José Eduardo dos Santos, felicitou
o Presidente eleito da República da Namíbia, Hage Geingob,
"augurando-lhe muitas felicidades e êxitos no cumprimento deste
nobre mandato".
"A vitória alcançada no pleito eleitoral, de forma clara, traduz a
vontade soberana do Povo Namibiano, de o ver à frente dos seus
destinos", segundo refere uma mensagem a si endereçada pela
eleição, recentemente ocorrida na Namíbia.
Na missiva, José Eduardo dos Santos reitera o "desejo do Governo
angolano de continuar a reforçar e aprofundar, cada vez mais, os
históricos laços de solidariedade, amizade e cooperação que unem
os dois países".
Concorreram para aquelas eleições, realizadas em Novembro de

In the letter, José Eduardo dos Santos reiterates the "desire of
the Angolan Government to continue to strengthen and deepen,
more and more, the historical ties of solidarity, friendship and
cooperation that unite the two countries."
Meanwhile 19 political parties ran at the last elections held in
November 2014, and nine candidates ran for the presidential
poll.

de emergência a Cabo
Verde devido ao vulcão
O
Presidente da República, José Eduardo dos Santos,
respondendo a um apelo das autoridades de Cabo Verde, orientou
o Governo para o "envio imediato de meios de assistência
humanitária de emergência ao arquipélago face à erupção do
vulcão da Ilha do Fogo", indica uma Nota de Imprensa, chegada
hoje à Angop.
Trata-se, nomeadamente, de equipamentos e materiais de
protecção civil, bens alimentares e alguns materiais de
construção.
De acordo com a Nota de Imprensa, o Presidente da República
determinou ainda que se disponibilizem dois aviões, um do tipo
AN 72 e outro do tipo DASH-8, para apoio logístico e
humanitário, sendo o valor da contribuição de Angola de cerca de
700 milhões de Kwanzas.

A ajuda humanitária do Governo de Angola a Cabo Verde é de
1200 toneladas e será transportada por via aérea e marítima.
A Nota sublinha que "O Governo e o povo de Angola expressam a
sua fraterna solidariedade para com o povo irmão de Cabo Verde,
que vive uma situação de emergência humanitária, suscitada pela
erupção do vulcão da Ilha do Fogo".
A orientação do Chefe de Estado angolano surge "face à grave
situação vivida naquela ilha e o desafio que a mesma representa
para o povo cabo-verdiano".

The
President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos,
responding to an appeal from the Cape Verde authorities,
directed the Government to "immediately send humanitarian
assistance means of emergency to the archipelago due to the
volcano eruption of Fogo Island," indicates a Press releases,
reached ANGOP.
This is mainly the equipment and civil protection materials, food
and some building materials.
According to the Press Release, the President also determined to
be available two aircrafts, a type AN 72 and other DASH-8 type,
for logistical and humanitarian support, and the value of
Angola's contribution of about 700 million Kwanzas.
Humanitarian aid from the Government of Angola to Cape Verde
is 1200 tons and will be transported by air and sea.
The Note states that "The Government and the people of Angola
express their fraternal solidarity with the fellow people of Cape
Verde, who live a humanitarian emergency, raised by the
eruption of Fogo Island."
The orientation of the Angolan Head of State comes "given the
serious situation on the island and the challenge it represents for
the people of Cape Verde."

O ministro das Relações Exteriores, Georges Chikoti, afirmou
no dia 19 de Dezembro de 2014, em Paris, em declarações ao
diário francês l'Opinion, que Angola pretende levar ao Conselho
de Segurança da ONU, enquanto membro não permanente, a sua
experiência de pacificação e reconciliação.
Segundo Georges Chikoti, “o nosso engajamento enquanto
membros não permanentes do Conselho de Segurança da ONU
vai no sentido de trabalhar com todos os membros do órgão e
disponibilizar, ali onde for possível, a experiência. Actualmente
cerca de 70 por cento dos assuntos em agenda são relacionados
com o continente africano. A este respeito temos um certo
número de questões em discussão, como a crise na RCA, na RDC,
Mali, no Sahara, na Líbia e agora na Nigéria”.
O ministro angolano defendeu ainda que “o interesse é o de
trabalhar pela paz e segurança, mas que também é importante
que possamos trabalhar sobre prevenção de conflitos e a questão
humanitária como o problema do ébola, que atinge alguns
Estados africanos, sobretudo quando olhamos para a quantidade
de vítimas”.
O ministro esclareceu que os três países africanos membros do
Conselho de Segurança – Nigéria, Tchad e Angola - irão trabalhar
de forma coordenada no sentido de reflectirem as posições
acordadas pela União Africana no seio da alta instância da ONU.
Georges Chikoti concedeu igualmente entrevistas às revistas
“Jeune Afrique” e “l'Essentiel des relationes internationales”,
para além dos programas “Invité du Jour” da rádio france
internacional, cuja difusão aconteceu no dia 22 de Dezembro de
2014, e para o journal Afrique da TV5 Monde.
Georges Chikoti termina visita à França
Entretanto, o ministro das Relações Exteriores Georges Chikoti
terminou na manhã de 20 de Dezembro de 2014 a sua visita
oficial à França, onde manteve um encontro com o seu homólogo
Laurent Fabius, com o qual rubricou dois acordos para o reforço
da parceria económica e a simplificação do procedimento de
vistos para os passaportes ordinários de algumas classes
profissionais.
Durante a sua estadia de 48 horas na capital francesa, Georges
Chikoti e Laurent Fabius mantiveram um encontro com homens
de negócios, tendo em vista o estabelecimento de algumas
parcerias empresariais entre os dois países, aproveitando assim o
actual momento de diversificação da economia angolana.
A cooperação político-diplomática entre Angola e a França
ganhou um novo impulso após a visita do Presidente José
Eduardo dos Santos a Paris, em Abril, a convite do Presidente
francês François Hollande.

The Foreign Minister, Georges Chikoti, said on 19th December
2014in Paris to the French daily L'Opinion that Angola, in its
capacity as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council,
intends to provide to that institution its pacification and
reconciliation experience.
According to Georges Chikoti, "our engagement as
non-permanent members of the UN Security Council is aimed at
working with all members of the body and make available, where
possible, its experience. Currently about 70 percent of the
subjects on the agenda are related to the African continent. In
this regard we have a number of issues under discussion, as the
crisis in CAR, DRC, Mali, Sahara, Libya and now in Nigeria".
The Angolan minister also argued that "the aim is to work for
peace and security, but it is also important that we work on
conflicts prevention and humanitarian issues such as the Ebola
problem, which affects some African states, especially when we
look at the number of victims".
The minister explained that the three African members of the
Security Council - Nigeria, Chad and Angola - will work in a
coordinated manner to reflect the positions agreed by the African
Union within the high instance of the UN.
Georges Chikoti also granted interviews to magazines "Jeune
Afrique" and "l'Essentiel des Relationes internationales", in
addition to the programmes "Invité du Jour" the international
radio france, broadcasted on 22nd December 2014, and the
journal of Afrique TV5 Monde.
Georges Chikoti ends his vist to France
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Georges Chikoti ended on the
morning of 20th December 2014 his official visit to France,
where he met with his counterpart Laurent Fabius, with whom he
signed two agreements to strengthen economic partnership and
the simplification of procedure on visas for passports of some
professional classes.
During his 48-hour stay in the French capital, Georges Chikoti
and Laurent Fabius held a meeting with businessmen in order to
establish business partnerships between the two countries,
taking into consideration the advantage of the current moment of
diversification of the Angolan economy.
The Political and diplomatic cooperation between Angola and
France got a boost after the visit of President José Eduardo dos
Santos to Paris last April, at the invitation of French President,
François Hollande.

Por mérito da sua

O Presidente José Eduardo dos Santos afirmou no dia 4 de
Dezembro de 2013, em Luanda, que por mérito da sua acção
diplomática, Angola vai cumprir, a partir do início do próximo
ano, um mandato de dois anos como Membro Não-Permanente
do Conselho de Segurança das Nações Unidas.
Este facto, acrescentou, permitirá Angola contribuir com a sua
experiência para a procura de soluções para os graves problemas
que a comunidade internacional enfrenta e para a paz e segurança
no mundo, em particular para a resolução de conflitos na região
em que se insere, designadamente na África Central e na Região
dos Grandes Lagos.
José Eduardo dos Santos discursava no dia 4 de Dezembro de
2014, na abertura do V Congresso do MPLA, partido de que é
presidente.
"Num mundo que até hoje ainda não conseguiu dar uma ênfase
maior ao diálogo e à negociação como as melhores formas de se
ultrapassarem as contradições e tensões que permanentemente
vão surgindo, é no quadro das Nações Unidas que devemos
começar por promover uma cultura da paz, com vista à
estabilidade, ao desenvolvimento, à segurança interna e
transfronteiriça, à boa governação, à protecção do Ambiente e aos
direitos humanos", frisou José Eduardo dos Santos.
O MPLA, adiantou o líder partidário, deve, pois, juntar-se a este
esforço do Estado, contribuindo com a sua diplomacia partidária,
para que a comunidade internacional dedique uma atenção
especial, com o intuito de os erradicar, ao recrudescimento dos
conflitos armados e aos seus efeitos nefastos na vida da
populações, no combate à proliferação desenfreada de
armamento, ao tráfico de drogas e de seres humanos, ao crime
transnacional organizado, ao terrorismo internacional e à
pirataria marítima.
"Na verdade, vivemos num mundo de relações muito complexas e
profundas e de interdependência sobre todos os aspectos, como
comprova a evolução nas últimas semanas do preço do barril do
petróleo, cuja queda prossegue desde Junho do corrente ano, em
consequência do aumento da oferta e da contracção da procura no
mercado internacional", destacou.
No seu discurso, José Eduardo dos Santos recordou que o MPLA,
desde a sua fundação, prestou sempre uma particular atenção à
actividade diplomática, então designada como sendo a ‘luta na
frente diplomática’, ciente de que o êxito nas outras frentes de luta
dependia da sua inserção e aceitação no plano internacional.
Defendeu que MPLA deve prosseguir o seu trabalho na frente

diplomática, estreitando relações de cooperação com os partidos
amigos e participando em diferentes eventos internacionais, a
fim de trocar experiências, dar a conhecer a realidade do país,
tantas vezes deturpada, e ajudar na promoção da imagem de
Angola.
De acordo com José Eduardo dos Santos, esta situação implica
que o MPLA faça o acompanhamento, de muito perto, da
evolução da execução do Orçamento Geral do Estado para 2015,
a fim de se salvaguardar a estabilidade monetária e financeira e
evitar o seu impacto negativo na vida das famílias.
Participam no conclave, de três dias, mais de 2 mil delegados,
cuja sessão de abertura foi testemunhada por altas
individualidades do partido, entidades dos órgãos de soberania,
deputados, dirigentes de partidos políticos, membros do corpo
diplomático acreditados no país, autoridades religiosas,
tradicionais, membros da sociedade civil entre outros
convidados.
Foram discutidas as teses “O melhoramento da vida interna do
MPLA e a maior inserção do partido na sociedade”, bem como
“O MPLA e os desafios político-eleitorais”, numa perspectiva de
consolidar a paz e o Estado democrático de direito.

security in the world, particularly for the resolution of conflicts in
the region in which it operates, namely in Central Africa and the

José Eduardo dos Santos was speaking on 4th December 2014 at
the opening of the V Congress of the MPLA, party of which he is
the president.
"In a world which to this date failed to give greater emphasis to
the dialogue and negotiation as the best ways to overcome the
contradictions and tensions that constantly arise, it is within the
framework of the United Nations that we must begin by
promoting a culture of peace, for the stability, development,
internal and border security, good governance, protection of the
environment and human rights ", said José Eduardo dos Santos.
The MPLA, said the party leader, must therefore join this State's
effort, contributing with its party diplomacy, for the international
community to pay special attention in order to eradicate, the
resurgence of armed conflict and its adverse effects in the life of
populations, in combating the rampant proliferation of weapons,
trafficking drugs and human beings, organized transnational
crime, international terrorism and maritime piracy.
"In fact, we live in a world of complex and deep relationships and
interdependence on all aspects, as evidenced by the
developments in recent weeks of the oil barrel price, whose
decline continues since June this year, because of the increased
supply and the contraction in demand on the international
market, " he said.
In his speech, José Eduardo dos Santos recalled that the MPLA,
since its foundation, has always paid particular attention to the
diplomatic activity, then designated as the 'struggle on the
diplomatic front', aware that the success in other fronts of
struggle depended of its integration and acceptance
internationally.
He defended that MPLA should continue its work on the
diplomatic front, narrowing cooperative relationships with
friends and parties participating in various international events
in order to exchange experiences, to make known the reality of
the country, so often misrepresented, and help in the promoting
the Angola´s image.
According to José Eduardo dos Santos, this implies that the
MPLA follows up, very closely, the progress of the
implementation of the State General Budget for 2015, in order to
safeguard monetary and financial stability and avoid its negative
impact in the lives of families.
Participating in the three days conclave, more than 2000
delegates, whose opening session was witnessed by leading
figures of the party, entities of state bodies, deputies, political
party leaders, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the
country, religious authorities, traditional, civil society members
and other guests.
Theses were discussed "Improving the internal life of the MPLA
and the greater integration of the party in society" and "The
MPLA and political-electoral challenges," with a view to
consolidate peace and the democratic rule of law.

reforço da cooperação
O ministro das Relações Exteriores, Georges Chikoti, assinou
com o ministro francês dos Negócios Estrangeiros, Laurent
Fabius, dois acordos, visando o reforço da cooperação entre os
países, com foco no sector económico.
O primeiro é um “Plano de Acção Conjunta Angola-França
2015-2017 para o reforço da parceria económica” e o segundo é
um “Acordo de facilitação de vistos” para os passaportes
ordinários dos cidadãos de ambos os países.
Os documentos assinados na tarde do dia 18 de Dezembro de
2014, em Paris, na presença de empresários de ambos os países,
visam facilitar a mobilidade e circulação principalmente dos
homens de negócios, estagiários e investigadores.
“O encontro permite reafirmar as nossas posições sobre o
reforço da cooperação bilateral entre os nossos países, abrindo
novas possibilidades para o sector empresarial”, reafirmou o
ministro Georges Chikoti, que considerou este passo importante
para a aproximação entre Angola e a França.
Laurent Fabius, por seu turno, considerou que “as relações
políticas entre Angola e a França são excelentes”, o que favorece
o quadro político.
O ministro Georges Chikoti discutiu igualmente, em privado,
com o seu homologo francês alguns assuntos da actualidade
política internacional, principalmente africana, uma vez que
Angola se prepara para assumir, pela segunda vez, a partir de
Janeiro de 2015, um assento de membro não permanente do
Conselho de Segurança da ONU, com um mandato bi-anual.

The Angolan Foreign Affairs minister, Georges Chikoti, and
French counterpart Laurent Fabius signed two agreements
aimed at strengthening cooperation between the countries,
focusing on the economic sector.
The first deal has to do with a "Joint Action Plan Angola-France
2015-2017, aimed at strengthening the economic partnership"
and the second is related to "visa facilitation agreement" for
ordinary passports of citizens from both countries.
The documents signed on 18th December 2014 afternoon, in
Paris, France at the presence of businessmen from both
countries, will ensure mobility and circulation mainly of
businessmen, trainees and researchers.
"The meeting allows reaffirming our stands on strengthening of
bilateral cooperation between our countries, opening new
possibilities for the business sector," stated Minister Georges
Chikoti, who described the step as very important toward
rapprochement between Angola and France.
In his turn, Laurent Fabius, who considered excellent the
political ties between Angola and his country, said that the move
will enable the political framework.
The minister Georges Chikoti also discussed in private with his
French counterpart some international political issues.
Stress went to Africa, at a time Angola prepares to take, for the
second time, the two-term non permanent seat at UN Security
Council from January 2015.

The Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, received
on 1st December 2014, at the Presidential Palace, in Luanda, the
chairperson of the Italian business group Cremonini, Luigi
Cremonini, with whom he discussed issues related to the
increase of investments in agricultural and food industry in
Angola.

At the end of the meeting, Luigi Cremonini told the press that he
expressed to the Angolan President, the intention of his
corporate group, based in Rome, Italy, to increase the turnover in
these two sectors for the development and diversification of the
Angolan economy.
The Italian businessman, who recognized the opportunities that
Angola offers, stressed that the aim of his group is to perform in
the country the production of cattle and also in the agri-food
sector.
Luigi Crimonini recalled that during the meeting between the
Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos and the Italian
Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, who was in Angola in official
working visit, the Angolan President defended the need for
increased economic relations between the two countries and "is
in this sense that we are bringing investments for the
development and wellbeing of the Angolan people."
The Crimonini business group, present in Angola since the 80s,
has offices in the cities of Malanje and Lobito, Benguela

19 de Dezembro de 2014, na capital do país, o embaixador da
Itália em Angola, Gorgio Di Pietrogiaco, no âmbito das relações

No final da audiência, o diplomata italiano deu a conhecer que
foram abordados aspectos ligados à cooperação no domínio da
Defesa, com destaque para a troca de experiências entre
especialistas militares angolanos e italianos.
Nesta perspectiva, frisou que recentemente o ministro da Defesa
Nacional manteve um encontro com a sua homóloga na sua visita
à Itália, tendo, de igual modo, a oportunidade de conhecer
grandes companhias italianas que trabalham para o sector da
Defesa.
Por outro lado, sublinhou que para o contínuo reforço da
cooperação, espera-se que no próximo ano a ministra da Defesa
do seu país visite Angola, bem como as delegações técnicas
italianas, com vista à troca de experiências com os técnicos do
MINDEN (Ministério da Defesa Nacional).
"Angola é um país muito importante para a Itália e como
membro não permanente do Conselho de Segurança das Nações
Unidas, toda a relação há que ter em conta a nova realidade deste
grande país", acrescentou.
O diplomata enalteceu também o nível de amizade entre os dois
países, que datam de 40 anos, sendo a Itália o primeiro país

The minister of National Defense, João Lourenço, received on
19th December 2014, in Luanda, the Italian ambassador to
Angola, Gorgio Di Pietrogiaco, as part of bilateral relations
between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, the Italian diplomat said that were
discussed aspects of cooperation in the field of defense, in
particular the exchange of experiences between Angolan and
Italian military experts.
In this perspective, he said that recently the Minister of National
Defense met with his counterpart on the occasion of his visit to
Italy, and likewise the opportunity to meet major Italian
companies working for the Defence sector.
On the other hand, he stressed that for the continuous
strengthening of cooperation, it is expected that next year the
defense minister of his country and Italian technical delegations
in will visit Angola in order to exchange experiences with the
technicians of MINDEN.
‘’Angola is a very important country for Italy and as
non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, any
relationship should be taken into account the new reality of this
great country," he added.
The diplomat also praised the level of friendship between the two
countries, which dates back 40 years, being Italy the first
European country to recognize the independence of Angola.

O ministro das Relações Exteriores, Georges Rebelo Chikoti,
deixou já a capital americana, Washington, após ter mantido um
encontro com o seu homólogo, John Kerry, no quadro da sua
visita de dois dias aos EUA.
No dia 17 de Dezembro de 2014, o chefe da diplomacia angolana
encontrou-se com John Kerry, Secretário de Estado dos EUA,
encontro que serviu para analisarem o estado actual da
cooperação bilateral entre os dois países no âmbito do
memorando para o diálogo da parceria estratégica, assinado em
Julho de 2010.
Durante o encontro, os dois dignitários passaram em revista
questões de âmbito bilateral e multilateral.
“Abordámos todos os aspectos da nossa cooperação bilateral
constantes do Memorando para o Diálogo da Parceria
Estratégica, nomeadamente direitos humanos, tráfico de pessoas
e as melhorias que temos de fazer nesta matéria”, disse o
ministro das Relações Exteriores de Angola, durante a
conferência de imprensa, realizada após o encontro.
O diplomata angolano, informou que ambas as partes abordaram
questões internacionais de segurança global. Angola e os EUA
partilham o mesmo ponto de vista nas questões internacionais.
Na oportunidade, Georges Chikoti felicitou os EUA pela decisão
tomada pelo presidente Barack Obama sobre o reatamento das
relações diplomáticas com Cuba, que, de acordo com o
governante angolano, satisfaz a maior parte da comunidade
internacional.
Por outro lado, o Secretário de Estado dos EUA, John Kerry, na
sua intervenção, referiu que após mais de cinquenta anos os EUA
tentaram isolar Cuba. Uma política que obviamente não
funcionou e que “isolou-nos mais do que a Cuba. É altura de
tentarmos trabalhar com o povo cubano para construir um
futuro melhor”, rematou.
Por outro, John Kerry agradeceu o Presidente José Eduardo dos
Santos pelo seu empenho pessoal nas questões de paz e
segurança no continente, particularmente no quadro da
presidência de Angola na Conferência Internacional para a
Região dos Grandes Lagos (CIRGL).
“O Presidente José Eduardo dos Santos informou ao ministro
Georges Chikoti que o engajamento com os líderes da região foi e
continua a ser fundamental para pôr fim à ameaça que os grupos
armados representam no leste da República do Congo e não há
um grupo que constitua uma maior ameaça à estabilidade na
região que as forças democráticas para a libertação do Ruanda ou
FDLR como são conhecidas”, disse o governante americano.

Por outro lado, o esforço para ampliar e expandir o investimento
entre Angola e os EUA foi uma das bases das conversações
aquando da recente visita de John Kerry a Luanda.
“Queremos reforçar as relações bilaterais, de maneira a que
possamos fazer progressos em todos os esforços multilaterais,
assim como igualmente bilaterais, como é o caso da educação,
troca e desenvolvimento das infra-estruturas; há muitas coisas
que penso que podemos fazer no domínio da saúde, cuidados
primários de saúde, transferência de tecnologia”, disse o
Secretário de Estado dos EUA.
“Nós, definitivamente, particularmente na era das mudanças
climáticas e numa era onde muitas pessoas estão à procura de
diversidade no que diz respeito às fontes de energia,
pretendemos ter uma relação económica diversificada com
Angola, não para aumentar o espaço mas para, como o ministro
sabe melhor do que ninguém, atrair investimento e capital o que
requer estabilidade e clareza ao longo do caminho,
transparência e responsabilidade e temos de estar certos de que
todos estas questões sejam parte das nossas conversações uma
vez que são parte do Memorando de Entendimento”, disse o
governante dos EUA.
O diplomata angolano, durante a conferência de imprensa, fez
referência à realização no primeiro trimestre de 2015 da
Conferência sobre o Golfo da Guiné, um assunto que interessa
tanto a Angola como os EUA, que têm prestado a sua ajuda.
Georges Chikoti mencionou que existem algumas preocupações
na região, relacionadas com a segurança, pirataria marítima e a
violação das fronteiras.
A audiência entre Georges Chikoti e John Kerry foi antecedida
de um encontro com Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Sub-secretária
de Estado para os Assuntos Africanos no qual estiveram

The Angolan Foreign Affairs minister, Georges Rebelo Chikoti,
has left the US capital, Washington, after holding a meeting with
his American counterpart, John Kerry, as part of his two-day visit
to the US.
On 17th December 2014, the head of the Angolan diplomacy met
with John Kerry, US Secretary of State, to analyze the current
state of bilateral cooperation between the two countries under
the Memorandum for the strategic partnership dialogue signed
in July 2010.
During the meeting, the two officials reviewed issues of bilateral
and multilateral levels.
"We addressed all aspects of our bilateral cooperation contained
in the Memorandum for Dialogue of the Strategic Partnership,
including human rights, trafficking in persons and the
improvements we have to do in this matter," said the Foreign
Minister of Angola, during the conference press, held after the
meeting.
The Angolan diplomat said that both parties discussed
international issues related to global security. Angola and US
share the same point of view in regarding international matters.
On that occasion, Georges Chikoti congratulated the US for the
decision made by the President Barack Obama on the
resumption of diplomatic relations with Cuba, which, according
to the Angolan official, satidfies most of the international
community.
On the other hand, the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, in his
speech, said that after more than fifty years the USA tried to
isolate Cuba. A policy that obviously did not work and that
"isolated us more than Cuba. It is time to try to work with the
Cuban people to build a better future ", he concluded.
On the other, John Kerry thanked President Jose Eduardo dos
Santos for his personal commitment to thepeace and security
issues on the continent, particularly in the context of the
presidency of Angola at the International Conference for the
Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).

O encontro entre os chefes de Estado de Angola, José Eduardo
dos Santos, e do Ruanda, Paul Kagame, definiu o futuro da
cooperação entre os dois países, disse no dia 17 de Dezembro de
2014, em Luanda, a ministra dos Negócios Estrangeiros do
Ruanda, Louise Mushikiwabo.
A governante ruandesa que falava à imprensa, no Aeroporto
Internacional 4 de Fevereiro, no termo da visita, de algumas
horas, do Presidente Paul Kagame ao país, considerou que o
encontro teve dois pontos importantes.
O primeiro esteve relacionado com a questão da dinamização das
relações de cooperação bilaterais no domínio da partilha de
conhecimentos e de investimentos, e o segundo analisou a
segurança regional.
De acordo com a ministra, os presidentes de Angola e do Ruanda
decidiram que os ministros das Relações Exteriores dos dois
países devem manter contactos mais avançados, com vista ao
estabelecimento de outros níveis de cooperação.
Para Louise Mushikiwabo, o facto de Angola ser, neste momento,
presidente em exercício da CIRGL e o Ruanda ter decidido
juntar-se a Comunidade Económica dos Estados da África
Central (CEEAC), também foi motivo de debate entre os dois
estadistas, por se tratar de duas importantes organizações
regionais que decidiram colaborar.
De acordo com a ministra, “o Ruanda está agora a terminar o seu
mandato como membro não-permanente do Conselho de
Segurança da ONU e Angola está a começar este mandato, então
era importante esta troca de experiências”.
Em 2007 o Ruanda anunciou a sua retirada da CEEAC,
justificando que a adesão às comunidades regionais comporta
obrigações financeiras, políticas, económicas, comerciais e sociais
que o país não podia assumir.
Como presidente em Exercício da Conferência Internacional da
Região dos Grandes Lagos (CIRGL) o Chefe de Estado angolano
tem feito concertações periódicas com os restantes líderes da

T he meeting between the Heads of State of Angola, José
Eduardo dos Santos, and Rwanda, Paul Kagame, defined
the future of cooperation between the two countries, said
on 17th December 2014 in Luanda, the Foreign minister
of Rwanda, Louise Mushikiwabo.
The Rwandan government official who was speaking to
journalists at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, at
the end of a few hour visit, of President Paul Kagame to
the country, considered that the meeting had two
important points.
The first was related to the issue of promotion of bilateral
cooperation relations in the field of knowledge sharing
and investment, and the second examined regional
security.
According to the Rwandan minister, the presidents of
Angola and Rwanda decided that the Foreign Ministers of
the two countries should maintain more advanced
contacts in order to establish other levels of cooperation.
Louise Mushikiwabo said that the fact that Angola is at
present chairperson of the ICGLR and Rwanda has
decided to join the Economic Community of Central
African States (ECCAS), was also a matter of debate
between the two statesmen, as they address two
important regional organizations decided to collaborate.
According to the minister, "Rwanda is now finishing its
term as non-permanent member of the UN Security
Council and Angola is starting this term, so it was
important to exchange experiences."
In 2007, Rwanda announced its withdrawal from ECCAS,
justifying that adherence to regional communities entails
financial, political, economic, trade and social obligations
that the country could not afford.
As acting chairperson of the International Conference on
the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) the Angolan Head of
State has made periodic consultations with other regional
leaders.
Banco Mundial prepara
um bilião de dólares
para projectos agrícolas
em Angola

director do Banco Mundial (BM) para Angola, Gregor
Binkert, disse no dia 2 de Dezembro de 2014, em Luanda,
que a sua instituição está a preparar uma operação de
ajuda no valor de um bilião de dólares para apoiar
projectos angolanos ligados aos sectores das águas e da

agricultura.
O responsável fez este anúncio durante uma conferência de
imprensa que visou dar a conhecer às autoridades
angolanas as acções de apoio que o BM pretende dar ao
Orçamento Geral do Estado para o ano de 2015.
O gestor avançou que o BM pretende, com esta operação,
apoiar as tarefas do Governo angolano destinadas à
diversificação da economia nacional e, deste modo, criar
mais postos de emprego e reduzir à fome à pobreza em
Angola.
“É a primeira vez que fazemos investimento desta
natureza, mas este valor poderá sofrer um posterior
aumento”, admitiu Gregor Binkert.
Gregor Binkert, que se encontra no país desde o dia 23 de
Novembro último, na companhia de especialistas da
instituição, manteve já vários encontros com dirigentes
angolanos para, entre outras questões, falarem de assuntos
ligados da ajuda, cuja discussão ao nível do Conselho de

T he director of the World Bank (WB) to Angola, Gregor
Binkert said on 2nd december 2014, in Luanda that his
institution is preparing to release USD 1.0 billion to
support Angolan projects linked to water and agriculture
sector.
The official said so during a press conference that aimed to
inform the Angolan authorities on the support that the
World Bank intends to give to the State Budget for the year
2015.
The World Bank manager intends with this gesture to
support the Angolan government tasks aimed to diversify
the national economy and create more jobs and reduce
poverty in Angola.
Regarding its investment portfolio in the country, the WB

O
Governo angolano, através do Ministério das Pescas,
exportou 41 mil 287 toneladas de marisco, bem como um
milhão, 425 mil e 522 litros de óleo de peixe, durante o ano
de 2014, informou no dia 22 de Dezembro de 2014, em
Luanda, a titular da pasta das Pescas, Vitória de Barros
Neto.
Sem avançar os países que compraram o produto de
Angola, Vitória de Barros Neto, que falava na cerimónia de
cumprimentos de fim de ano, disse que a produção
pesqueira de Janeiro a Novembro foi de cerca de 396 mil
toneladas, incluindo a pesca industrial, semi-industrial,
artesanal marítima e continental.
Quanto à produção pesqueira, a governante afirmou que a
mesma ultrapassou em 6,3 porcento as metas
preconizadas, tendo contribuindo para este facto a pesca
artesanal, marítima e a continental.
Relativamente ao ano de 2013 (em que se registou a cifra de
363 mil e 22 toneladas) verificou-se, até ao momento, um
aumento de 8 porcento na produção pesqueira.
A ministra referiu que a produção de peixe seco atingiu, no
período em análise, cerca de 15 mil toneladas,
representando pouco mais de 41 porcento da meta
preconizada, ou seja, uma subida de 30% relativamente ao
ano de 2013.

Na indústria salineira, foram produzidas, até ao momento,
39 mil 146 toneladas, cerca de 45 porcento da meta
estabelecida para o presente ano.
Relativamente a frota pesqueira, em 2014 foram
licenciadas um total de 253 embarcações a favor de 108
empresas, das quais 42,3% são nacionais e as demais a
operarem em parceria com empresas angolanas.
Tendo em conta a ideia de diversificação da economia, o
Executivo aprovou o Plano Nacional de Desenvolvimento
da Pesca Artesanal, Marítimo e Continental para o período
2014-2017 e o Plano de acção para o Desenvolvimento da
Aquicultura em Angola, para o mesmo período.
A governante frisou ainda que o sector continuará a utilizar
os serviços do Fundo de Apoio às Indústrias de Pesca e da
Empresa Nacional de Abastecimento Técnico das Pescas,
que ao longo destes últimos anos, vem implementando
programas nos domínios socioeconómico e produtivo,
fornecimento e distribuição de materiais, artefactos e
equipamentos de pescas aos pescadores artesanais.
No domínio da aquicultura, disse a ministra, o executivo
continua a dar uma especial atenção ao fomento deste
subsector, como forma alternativa incontornável para o
aumento da produção pesqueira em Angola.
O Plano Nacional de Desenvolvimento estipulou a meta de
produção de 60 mil toneladas até 2017.
Angola exports over

The Angolan Government, through the Ministry of Fisheries,
exported more than 41,000 tons of seafood as well as over 1.4
million litres of fish oil, throughout the year 2014, announced on
22nd December 2014, in Luanda, the minister of Fisheries,
Victória de Barros Neto.
Without mentioning any country to which the products are
exported, Victoria de Barros Neto, who was speaking at the end of
the year greetings ceremony, said that the fish production from
January to November was around 396,000 tons, including
industrial fishing, semi -industrial, maritime and continental
one.
As for the fish production, the minister said that it exceeded by
6.3 percent the established targets, and contributed to this the
artisanal, maritime and continental fisheries.

The minister said that the dried fish production reached in the
period under review, about 15,000 tons, more than 41 percent of
the recommended target, or an increase of 30% if compared to
2013.
In the salt industry, there have been produced to date, 39 000
146 tonnes, about 45 percent of the target set for this year.
Regarding the fishing fleet, in 2014 were licensed a total of 253
vessels on behalf of 108 companies, of which 42.3% are national
and the others are operating in partnership with Angolan
companies.
For the year 2013 (which registered 363 022 tonnes) there was,
so far, an increase of 8 percent in the fish production.
Aiming at diversification of the economy, the Executive approved
the National Plan for Development of Artisanal, Maritime and
Continental Fisheries for the 2014-2017 period and the Action
Plan for Aquaculture Development in Angola, for the same
period.
The official also stressed that the sector will continue to use the
services of the Support Fund for Fishing Industry and the
National Company for Technical Supply of Fisheries, which over
the last few years, has been implementing programs in the
socio-economic and productive fields, supply and distribution
materials, artefacts and fishing equipment to the artisanal
fishermen.
In the field of aquaculture, the minister said, the executive
continues to give special attention to the promotion of this
sub-sector, as inevitable alternative way for increasing fish
production in Angola.
The National Development Plan stipulated the fisheries
production figure at 60,000 tons as the target to be reached until
2017.

Empresários angolanos e francesas reuniram-se no dia 18 de
Dezembro de 2014, em Paris, para analisarem e identificarem
oportunidades de negócios entre os países, num acto organizado
pela Ubi-France e o Medef internacional.
Segundo uma nota de imprensa da embaixada angolana em
França, o embaixador de Angola em França, Miguel da Costa
disse, durante o encontro, ao empresariado francês que o
mercado angolano é atractivo e estável, no qual oferece todas as
condições para a materialização do investimento estrangeiro
directo desde 2002.
O chefe da missão diplomática angolana em França disse
igualmente que os empresários franceses que têm uma grande
oportunidade de participar em acções que permitam a
diversificação da economia angolana.
Por seu turno, Jean-Claude Moyret, embaixador de França em
Angola considerou que o seu país perdeu “uma dezena de anos,
entre 2000 e 2010 que foi um período fundamental para
Angola”. “Ainda assim, queremos diversificar a nossa presença”,
até aqui muito concentrada no sector petrolífero e
para-petrolífero”- defendeu.
Reunidos em três mesas redondas, focalizadas nos sectores das
infra-estruturas, transportes e urbanismos, agricultura, energia
e minas, os empresários angolanos e franceses concordaram
quanto à necessidade do estabelecimento de parcerias para uma
melhor penetração no mercado angolano.
Na reunião, o jurista Jacques dos Santos transmitiu igualmente
aos empresários franceses algumas noções do quadro jurídico e
institucional para projectos de investimento no mercado
angolano, além da componente logística e de recursos humanos.
Com base em alguns estudos qualitativos e quantitativos sobre o
mercado angolano e o seu potencial a médio e longo prazos, os
empresários angolanos e franceses, apoiados também nos
indicadores do Plano Nacional de Desenvolvimento defenderam
a necessidade de investimentos focalizados em sectores como
Agricultura, energia, águas, infra-estrutura e transportes.
No domínio das infra-estruturas, a empresa Urbinvest procedeu
uma apresentação dos trabalhos preliminares do Plano
Directório de Luanda, cujo projecto final deve estar concluído e
entregue ao Executivo no primeiro semestre de 2015.
Neste último sector, os presentes ao fórum assistiram
igualmente a assinatura de um acordo de parceria entre a
Multiparques, de Angola, representada pelo seu Presidente
Leonel da Rocha Pinto e a CMA-CGM, representada por
Jean-François Tallec.
O fórum de negócios Angola-França foi organizado pela
Ubi-France e o Medef Internacional contou com a parceria da
Liga dos empresários angolanos (LIDE).

According to a press note from the Angolan embassy in France,
the ambassador of Angola in France, Miguel da Costa said during
the meeting to the French business community that the Angolan
market is attractive and stable, and it offers all the conditions for
the materialization of foreign direct investment since 2002.
The head of the Angolan diplomatic mission in France also said
that the French entrepreneurs have a great opportunity to
participate in projects to facilitate the diversification of the
Angolan economy.
In turn, Jean-Claude Moyret, French ambassador to Angola
considered that his country has lost "a dozen years, between 2000

In the area of infrastructure, the Urbinvest company made a
presentation of the preliminary works of the Directory Plan of
Luanda, the final project must be completed and delivered to the
Executive in the first half of 2015.
In the latter sector, participants of the forum also attended the
signing of a partnership agreement between the Multiparques,
Angola, represented by its President Leonel da Rocha Pinto and
CMA-CGM, represented by Jean-François Tallec.
The business forum Angola-France was organized by Ubi-France
and the MedefInternacional had the partnership of the League of

O Presidente da República, José Eduardo dos Santos, foi o
convidado de honra da Gala de Eleição da Miss Angola 2015, que
acompanhou minuciosamente ao lado da primeira dama, Ana
Paula dos Santos.
Em quase três horas, o Chefe de Estado deixou de parte a pressão
da gestão política do país, para descontrair numa noite de
glamour, que coroou a candidata da província da Huíla, Whitney
Shikongo, de 19 anos de idade.
José Eduardo dos Santos e Ana Paula dos Santos aplaudiram a
performance das 26 concorrentes, que "enfrentaram" os
holofotes com os habituais trajes tradicionais, fatos de banho e
trajes de gala.
Mas foi por altura da última e decisiva parte do concurso (cultura
geral), que o casal presidencial mais se emocionou, sobretudo
com a qualidade das respostas relacionadas ao perfil da mulher
rural.
O Chefe de Estado e a primeira-dama da República sorriram
inúmeras vezes com as respostas das cinco finalistas, que foram
postas à prova com questões relativas à mulher rural, à qual José
Eduardo dos Santos mereceu atenção especial, em 2014.
O Presidente da República promoveu este ano um Fórum de
Auscultação à Mulher Rural, cuja vida (mulher rural) serviu de
tema de fundo, este ano, para o Miss Angola.
Ladeado pela Primeira-dama Ana Paula dos Santos, o titular do
poder executivo acompanhou a gala do princípio até a altura da
confirmação de como a nova Miss Angola (2015).
A futura representante de Angola no Miss Universo é natural da

The President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, was
the guest of honor at the Gala for the Election of Miss Angola
2015, which he followed closely next to the First Lady, Ana Paula
dos Santos.
In almost three hours, the Head of State left aside the pressure of
the country's political management, to relax in the evening of
glamor, which crowned the candidate of the province of Huila,
Whitney Shikongo, 19 years old.
José Eduardo dos Santos and Ana Paula dos Santos applauded
the performance of the 26 competitors who "faced" the spotlight
with the usual traditional costumes, bathing suits and evening
dress.
But it was at the most recent and decisive part of the contest
(general culture), that the presidential couple got more
emotional, especially with the quality of the responses regarding
the profile of the rural women.

The President promoted this year, a Survey Board for Rural

singularidade, uma história exclusiva que faz dela um colectivo
único num contexto artístico conservador e fortemente marcado
pela ausência da criação de autor, ao nível da dança. Apesar da
sua qualidade, legitimada pelo rigor do seu profissionalismo e
pela consistência intelectual e artística das suas criações, a CDC
Angola é mantida na condição de sobrevivente, num terreno que
a ausência de um reconhecimento institucional torna agreste.
A CDC Angola procura, cada vez mais, uma validação no exterior
de Angola, onde o seu trabalho é reconhecido. Para além das
digressões efectuadas, o convite a coreógrafos estrangeiros em
residência de criação artística faz parte da sua estratégia de
internacionalização, para além de ser um vector fundamental
para o desenvolvimento e aumento do nível artístico dos seus
bailarinos, que têm assim a possibilidade de contacto com novas
linguagens coreográficas e com outros métodos de criação.
Apesar da persistente falta de teatros em Luanda e da dificuldade
em reunir as condições técnicas exigidas por esta companhia, a
CDC Angola insiste na criação e apresentação de novas obras,
como forma de honrar o incondicional compromisso assumido
com o seu o público, contribuindo para a divulgação da dança
contemporânea em Angola.
Assim, no ano de 2014, a CDC Angola foi capaz de produzir duas
temporadas com três estreias em Angola, num total de quinze
espectáculos. Após a realização da 1ª Temporada com a
apresentação das peças “Solos para um Dó Maior” e “Paisagens
Propícias”, nos meses de Junho e Julho, respectivamente, a
Companhia de Dança Contemporânea de Angola apresentou,
entre os dias 11 e 16 de Setembro, no Memorial Dr. António
Agostinho Neto a sua 2ª Temporada com a peça “Mpemba Nyi
Mukundu”.
Com coreografia de Cláudia Martins e Rafael Carriço, directores
artísticos, coreógrafos e bailarinos da Vortice Dance Company,
convidados pela CDC Angola, esta peça é inspirada num conto da
oratura cokwe cuja mensagem se transporta para a actualidade
através da utilização das novas tecnologias. A música original é
do compositor Victor Gama, a videografia de Rafael Carriço e os
figurinos de Cláudia Martins e Nuno Guimarães.
Não se circunscrevendo à história e seus personagens, a
coreografia abriu-se a um conjunto de elementos desta cultura,
onde as máscaras, os sona (desenhos na areia), as pinturas nas
paredes, a música e as danças se actualizam pelo recurso a outros
discursos corporais ou se prolongam através das linguagens do
graffiti e do vídeo. Mpemba Nyi Mukundu é um trabalho que
resgata, da tradição, a actualidade de uma mensagem intemporal
sobre o egoísmo e a ganância do ser humano, a partir de dois
contrários nas culturas bantu: o branco (mpemba) e o vermelho
(mukundu), duas argilas com aplicações e significados rituais e
mágicos muito específicos.

Between the tradition and
new technologies
T he Contemporary Dance Company of Angola, founded
22 years ago, has built through a journey of innovation
and uniqueness, an exclusive history that makes of it a
unique group in the conservative artistic context and
strongly marked by the absence of the author of creation,
at the dance level. Despite its quality, legitimized by the
accuracy of its professionalism and by the intellectual and
artistic consistency of its creations, the CDC Angola is
maintained in the surviving condition, in the territory
where the absence of the institutional recognition makes
it rough.
The CDC Angola seeks, increasingly, a validation outside
of Angola, where its work is recognized. In addition to the
tours which are made, the invitation made to the foreign
choreographers to the artist residencies is a part of its
internationalization strategy, in addition to being a key
vehicle for promoting and increasing the artistic level of

its dancers, who thus have the possibility to contact with
new choreographic languages and other creative methods.
Despite the persistent lack of theaters in Luanda and the
difficulty in gathering the technical conditions required by
this company, CDC Angola insists on the creation and
presentation of new works as a way to honor the
unconditional commitment to its public, contributing to
the dissemination of contemporary dance in Angola.
Thus, in 2014, the CDC Angola was able to produce two
seasons with three premieres in Angola, in a total of fifteen
performances. After the 1st season with the presentation of
the play "Solos for a C major" and "Favorable Landscapes "
in the months of June and July, respectively, the
Contemporary Dance Company of Angola presented
between 11th and 16th September in Memorial Dr. António
Agostinho Neto its 2nd Season with the play "Mpemba Nyi
Mukundu".
With the choreography of Claudia Martins and Rafael
Carrico, art directors, choreographers and dancers from
Vortice Dance Company, invited by the CDC Angola, this
piece is inspired by a tale of orature Cokwe whose message
is transported to the present through the use of new
technologies. The original music is by composer Victor
Gama, the videography is by Rafael Carrico and costumes
by Claudia Martins and Nuno Guimarães.
By not being limited to the story and its characters, the
choreography opened to a set of elements of this culture,

where the masks, the “sona” (drawings in the sand), the
wall paintings, music and dances are updated by using
other body speeches or are being extended through the
graffiti and vídeo languages. Mpemba Nyi Mukundué is a
work that rescues, from the tradition, timeliness of a
timeless message about the selfishness and greed of human
beings, from two contraries in Bantu cultures: white
(Mpemba) and red (Mukundu), two types of clay with
applications and very specific rituals and magic meanings.
