Welcome to our St. Julian’s Summer School 2013
After one year’s break, we are back to carry on with our tradition of providing summer activities for the
holidays.
Após um ano de pausa, estamos de volta para continuar com a nossa tradição de oferecer actividades para as
férias de Verão.
Our Summer School team have been preparing their programs of activities and trips appropriate to the students
ages and linked to our topic “Around the World in 15 Days”. Our aim is to provide a programme, delivered in
English, which will enhance the intellectual physical and emotional development of your children, within a
relaxed and friendly holiday atmosphere.
A nossa equipa do “Summer School” tem vindo a preparar os seus programas de atividades e passeios
adequados às idades dos alunos e ligados ao nosso tema "Volta ao Mundo em 15 Dias". O nosso objectivo é
oferecer um programa, em Inglês de forma a melhorar o desenvolvimento intelectual, físico e emocional dos
seus filhos, dentro de uma atmosfera de férias descontraída e amigável.
Among the activities planned are: organized trips to exciting places (Kidzania, Oceanário, etc), Surfing,
Nature trails, Pool and Beach Trips, Survival skills, Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Computer lessons, Music, Sports,
Archery, canoeing and lots more!
As atividades previstas são: excursões para lugares interessantes (Kidzania, Oceanário, etc), Surf, circuitos
pedestres, piscina e passeios à praia, técnicas de sobrevivência, artes e trabalhos manuais, culinária, aulas de
informática, música, desporto, arco e flecha, canoagem e muita mais!
Our camping day is famous amongst students and staff alike!
O dia de acampamento é popular entre os estudantes e funcionários!
Focus on English: All activities will be delivered in English to encourage and develop the children’s
understanding of the English Language.
Foco na Língua Inglesa: Todas as actividades serão em Inglês para incentivar e desenvolver a compreensão das
crianças do Idioma Inglês.
St. Julian’s Summer School will run from 9am until 4pm and welcomes children aged 3 to 14 years old, from all
Schools and all countries and at all levels of English.
On the afternoon of the 19h of July, Summer School will host a farewell celebration party, with a special show
by the children, where they will have the opportunity to put into practice and perform what they have learnt
during the 3 weeks.

O St. Julian’s “Summer School” começa às 09:00h e termina às 16:00h acolhendo crianças entre os 3 e os 14
anos de todas as escolas, de todos os países e com todos os níveis de Inglês.
Na tarde de 19 de Julho, o “Summer School” vai realizar uma festa de confraternização e despedida, com um
show especial feito pelas crianças, onde terão a oportunidade de colocar em prática e executar o que
aprenderam durante as 3 semanas.
Neste folheto podem conhecer os dirigentes do nosso grupo e ver mais detalhes sobre o nosso emocionante
programa.
Fully inclusive in our Summer School fee are all activities, trips, insurance and a healthy and balanced daily
hot meal or a packed picnic lunch.

To secure a place at our Summer School you are advised to enrol your child(ren) before the published

Enrolment for any one week will NOT guarantee a place for any other weeks A Inscrição por semana NÃO

Discounts are ONLY given to siblings. The 2nd child will have a 5% discount and the 3rd child will have a 10%
discount. Further siblings will be offered the same discount as the 3 rd Child Os descontos são atribuídos

In the case of siblings staying for different numbers of weeks, the discount will be applied to the child

If you wish your child(ren) to be in the same registration group as another child(ren) you must request this
upon enrolment. However, "Summer School” reserves the right to organise registration groups as it sees fit

Payment Pagamento:

Payments must be made in FULL with enrolment and can be made by cash, cheque, Multibanco, or bank
transfer. Discounts only applicable when payment done in full Deverá efectuar o pagamento integral na

For bank transfers please request the school NIB from the Summer Camp Administrator (a proof of payment
is required and must be sent to the Summer School administrator. Upon carrying out transfer, it is
important that you include the childl(ren) 's name(s) and clearly state that the payment is for “Summer

St. Julian's Summer Camp reserves the right to alter activities in accordance with availability o St. Julian's

Cancellations made before the enrolment deadline will be subject to an administration fee of 40 euros per

Our aim is to provide a program that will stimulate the all-round development of the children,(intellectual, physical, social and emotional) in a relaxed
and happy holiday atmosphere. Using a topic-based program we structure the activities according to the children´s age. We give special attention to
language development in order to extend the children’s understanding of English and to encourage them to speak English using correct vocabulary and
phrases. Nosso objectivo é oferecer um programa que vai estimular o desenvolvimento integral das crianças, (intelectual, físico, social e emocional) numa
atmosfera de férias, relaxada e feliz. Ao fazer um programa baseado num tópico, permite-nos estruturar as actividades de acordo com as diferentes
idades das crianças. Damos especial atenção ao desenvolvimento da língua a fim de ampliar e incentivar a compreensão e o correcto uso da língua

OUR THEME “Around the world in 15 days”
O nosso tema “Volta ao Mundo em 15 dias”
We will be learning about different countries around the world. During the first week we will be concentrating on various countries in America, the
following week, we will look at Europe and at our final week we will research various countries in Asia. As part of the theme, the children will learn about
the different cultures and traditions. The children will also have the opportunity to take part in various daily workshops. On the last day of Summer
School there will be a grand party for both children and parents.
Iremos aprender sobre as diferentes culturas e tradições dos diferentes países, ao redor do mundo durante a primeira semana, vamos concentrar-nos em
vários países da América, na semana seguinte, vamos olhar para a Europa e na última semana, iremos pesquisar vários países na Ásia. As crianças também
terão a oportunidade de participar em vários workshops diários.
No último dia do “Summer School”, haverá uma grande festa para todas as crianças e pais.

Trips to the beach, swimming pools, sports, arts and crafts and cooking activities are all parts of the St Julian´s Summer School Adventure. Also included
this year are nature trails and obstacle courses through the woods, in the school grounds and paddling pools on site.
Viagens para a praia, piscina, desporto, artes e trabalhos manuais, actividades de culinária fazem todas parte desta aventura. Este ano também estão
incluídos circuitos pedestres e gincanas por entre os bosques, no terreno da escola e piscinas infantis no local.

The younger children explore similar experiences within their own environment using the appropriate vocabulary. They develop awareness of

I have worked at St. Julian´s School for 11 years and been part of Summer School for the past 6 years. I also run
creative workshops for children during the school holidays, therefore have a lot of experience in working with children
and know what they enjoy! This year program will be fun, stimulating and will encourage the use of the English
language.
Trabalho no St. Julian’s School há 11 anos e fiz parte do “Summer School” no últimos 6 anos. Também organizo
“Workshops “ para crianças durante as férias escolares, portanto, tenho muita experiência em trabalhar com crianças
e em saber o que elas gostam! Este programa vai ser divertido, estimulante e vai incentivar o uso da Língua Inglesa.

My name is Tracy Jones and I am from London, England.
I have been in Portugal for almost 3 years and currently I am assisting in the year 4 classes in St Julian’s School.
This will be my first time at St Julian’s Summer School and I am excited to be taking part in
the great adventures the children will have this year.
