Refúgio na Cidade
Refuge in the City
O projecto de arquitectura assenta na recuperação
de um magnífico palacete do início do século XX.
O apartamento é contemporâneo, embora toda a
envolvente seja um jardim de estilo romântico, também
ele recuperado e que exibe agora todo o seu esplendor,
com os seus 3 600 metros quadrados de árvores
centenárias. Designado de ‘Refúgio na cidade’, o
projecto reflecte o gosto contemporâneo da família
e a fusão entre o funcional e o design de excepção.
The architectural project is based on the restoration
of a magnificent early twentieth century mansion.
The apartment is contemporary, even though the
surroundings are nothing less than a romantic-style
garden, which has also been restored and which now
displays its full splendour through its 3,600 square
metres filled with centuries-old trees. Named ‘Refuge in
the City’, the project reflects the contemporary tastes
of the family and the fusion between functionality and
outstanding design.
Desenhado ao pormenor, o espaço foi reformulado
pela equipa da Mobilada, que criou uma base neutra
de forma a atribuir o devido protagonismo às peças
inseridas nos vários ambientes. Efectuaram-se
alterações estruturais, passando pela demolição
parcial e a remoção integral de todos os acabamentos
existentes. O jogo de cores e a sua relação próxima
com a envolvência exterior foram a linha condutora do
processo criativo.
Designed right down to the last detail, the space was
reformulated by the Mobilada team, which created a
neutral base in order to highlight the role of the pieces
found in the different areas.
Structural modifications were carried out, including
partial demolition and the wholesale removal of all the
previous finishes.

Os tons quentes e fortes dotam o apartamento de
personalidade, resultando na percepção de um espaço
fluído e não fragmentado. A sala é preenchida por
um sofá White da Minotti, ladeado por uma zona de
jantar onde se dispõem as cadeiras DAW Eames Plastic
Armchair da Vitra. A arrumação é assegurada pelo
sideboard em Golden Yellow da USM, conferindo ao
ambiente um carácter intemporal. A fusão de materiais,
cores e texturas é fruto deste diálogo entre as diferentes
peças marcantes aqui presentes. De realçar a obra da
artista plástica Catarina Pinto Leite que sobressai com
um golpe de cor e luz dominantes. O pequeno armário
Homage to Mondrian, desenhado por Shiro Kuramata
para a Cappellini, personaliza o hall de entrada com um
apontamento luminoso … Don Quixote do Ingo Maurer.
Símbolo de irreverência, a poltrona vermelha Egg da
Fritz Hansen enfatiza o espírito jovem e dinâmico que
se quis evidenciar na suite do filho. Minimal mas com
atenção ao detalhe, a cozinha branca Indada materializa
a intenção de tornar este espaço "leve" e funcional.
O rosa e o branco da Designers Guild Wallpaper
predominam num outro quarto. Os lavatórios e a
banheira em corian da Agape, foram a opção para o
WC da master suite, fundindo-se com o mármore Thassos
do revestimento. A leveza das formas e dos materiais
tornam esta instalação sanitária num espaço que
convida ao relaxamento. ::
The combination of colours and their close relationship
with the outdoor surroundings provided the unifying
theme for the creative process.
The warm and strong tones instil the apartment with
personality, creating a sense of a fluid and cohesive
whole. The living room is dominated by a White sofa by
Minotti, flanked by a dining area furnished with DAW
Eames Plastic Armchairs from Vitra. Storage is provided
by a Golden Yellow sideboard from USM, giving the
ambience a timeless feel. The fusion of materials, colours
and textures is the result of the dialogue established
between the different striking pieces that can be found
here. One of the highlights is the work of the artist
Catarina Pinto Leite which grabs our attention thanks
to its dazzling colour and light. The small cupboard,
Homage to Mondrian, designed by Shiro Kuramata for
Cappellini, adds a personal touch to the entrance hall
with a luminous detail... Don Quixote by Ingo Maurer.
The red Egg armchair by Fritz Hansen embodies
irreverence and emphasises the young and dynamic feel
required for the son’s suite. Minimalist yet with attention
to detail, the white Indada kitchen embodies the
intention to make this space ‘light’ and functional.
The pink and white colors from Designers Guild Wallpaper
dominate in another room.The corian sinks and bathtub by
Agape, were chosen for the master suite bathroom, where
they blend in with the Thassos marble finish. The lightness
of the shapes and materials transform this bathroom into
a space that invites one to relax. ::
