(FOR THE RESEARCH PRE-CONFERENCE) Self-evaluation as a process of a student’s reflection and a teacher’s transformation. The aim of this work is to discuss the idea of doing the evaluation a space of reflection for the student and the teacher. The proposal here presented was eveloped in the Arts disciplines - music and visual arts – as th part of the official curriculum of Basic Education with students of 6 Grade, between 10 and 12 years old at St. Joseph School, in Sao Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brasil and it is based on self-assessment process in a questionnaire structure. The questions’ purpose is to guide the students to make a review about the themes and contents worked in de classroom. They also require from the students a reflection regarding to their participation, knowledge and creation. The work is supported by the thought of Luciana M. Arslan Iavelberg and Rose (2006) who see the evaluation as a complex procedure, especially in art, because of the difficulty in establishing criteria to measure creativity. The analysis presented show the students desires which led a teacher change. Learning is a student and teacher responsibility and both need instruments that guide and regulate the learning. The students answers’ analysis shows that the selfassessment facilitates the dialogue between teacher and student, and that each one is influenced by another. In view of these results, we conclude that the assessment should not be an instrument of control of the teacher, but a tool for teaching reorientation process. Thus, both can benefit from it if it is used for failures and successes analysis. Keywords: evaluation, assessment, art education, music education. Text for - InSEA – Main Congress - Hungria Theme (3) : Spaces and Objects: environmental consciousness in the 21th century What does art taste like? – 21th century Visual and Soundscap The present study concerns about the awareness of audio and visual environment of the XXI century and its aesthetic possibilities for artistic invention. The proposed activities are supported by the thoughts of Murray Schafer and Friedrich Stowasser, known as Hundertwasser. Schafer, given her concern about the effects of noise pollution on humans, proposes a careful and critical ear perception of the acoustic environment around us, which he called Soundscape. Hundertwasser establishes a life plan in which man lives in harmony with nature and proposes a reflection of being on earth through the five skins: epidermis, clothes, houses, identity and global environment. The project was conducted at St. Joseph School in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, with students from 6th grade. Developed interdisciplinary by the areas of Music and Visual Arts, it involved the direction, coordination, teaching, students, inspectors and employees of the institution. The work consisted of several steps which worked the student’s sensitiveness through the exploration of sound and visual phenomenon, its possible applications, organization and artistic invention. The results of this study exceeded expectations, not only because it reached the children, but school officials and coordination. The attitude of the students in presence of the audible and visual stimuli that surround them changed, recovering elements previously unnoticed by them. From this experience, they were able to incorporate these elements into his artistic inventions. Thus, new sound and visual organizations became part of the artistic repertoire of these young people. Workshop Spaces and objects: enviornmental consciousness in the 21th century Music and Visual Arts - a creative dialogue It is intended to lead the participants of this workshop to the opportunity to develop musical work combined with the visual language. Since the late nineteenth century to the present day, significant changes occurred in the musical language. Among the changes we highlight the extension of musical notation that, in many proposals, has become close to the visual language. It is believed that the approach of students to the visual and musical production of the XX and XXI century may expand their artistic repertoire reference and leads them to accept new sound and visual organizations. It is possible to develop interpretation and creation pieces of work involving these two areas of knowledge by exploring the current century production. The work sustains itself in the thoughts of Canadian composer Murray Schafer (1991) that focus his work on the conscience of the Soundscape of our century and the English John Paynter (1992 e 1972) and George Self (1967 and 1976) that hold a value of art creation. The Hundertwasser’s five skins concept (RESTANY, 2003) will be used to facilitate the dialogue between the two artistic languages. It is expected that students establish a positive relationship with the sound-visual creation and conclude the workshop creating sound and visual games. The workshop will last for 120 minutes and the equipment required is: one computer, one data show and one sound stereo system; pen and large paper for the participants, if it is possible. The maximum number of participants is 40. Keywords: sound and visual games, invention, XX and XXI century production, musical notation. Bibliography PAYNTER, John. Sound & Structure.
