MORTGAGE APPLICATION- NON-RESIDENTS
1.Mortgage Application
• Account no., Branch no. and Proposal no.- filled in by bank
• Tax Number:- the tax no. referred to here is the Portuguese Fiscal number (NÚMERO DE
CONTRIBUINTE) ; have to apply for one before purchasing a property in Portugal.
• Please complete the rest of the form in full
• The values asked for under “Taxable Income of the Household” should come from your latest P60,
Tax Return. Etc
• “Other Charges” is any other loans that you may have eg personal loans, student loans, car finance,
other mortgages, etc
• Signatures: The 1st proponent must sign on the 1st line
The 2nd proponent must sign on the 2nd line
Signatures must conform to those on your passports
2. Current Account Application Form
IDENTIFICATION FORMS
- each proponent must fill in one of these forms ie if there are 2 proponents, there must be 2
completed forms
- please complete this form in full
- Signature must conform to that of the passport
ACCOUNT OPENING FORM
- if there are 2 proponents, both must sign on this form
- 1st proponent signs in the first empty box as well as on the line adjacent to “signatures” at
the bottom of the page
- 2nd proponenr signs in the second empty box as well as on the second line adjacent to
“signatures”
- signatures must conform to those on the proponent´s passports
3. Insurance forms
All proponents have to apply for Life assurance and Building insurance.
MULTIRISCOS HABITAÇÂO
- ie Building Insurance
- bank will complete the form
- only need to sign this form on the reverse
- even if there are 2 proponents, only the 1st proponent must sign
- sign by “O Tomador de Seguro” and by “Segurado”
RAMO VIDA
- ie Life Assurance
- bank will use the English translation to complete this form
- only need to sign this form on the last page
- if there are 2 proponents, both proponents must sign
- 1st proponent signs on the line above “Assinatura da 1a Pessoa Segura”
- 2nd proponent must sign on the line above “Assinatura da 2a Pessoa Segura”
ENGLISH TRANSLATION FOR THE LIFE ASSURANCE PROPOSAL
- every single question must be answered otherwise the insurance company will return the
form back and this will create unnecessary delays
