Yet very little is known about how mothers integrate their identities as infertile women with their new identities as mothers after birth following IVF. Aims: to explore how the meaning of conception in women who successfully conceive after In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and how their identities as new mothers may be affected by both experiences of infertility and infertility treatments. And to write a practice guide for professionals in the field of assisted reproductive technologies based on the study findings. Design: mixed methods case study using in-depth and telephone interviews and a quality of life scale to compare women’s experiences of the transition to motherhood after IVF in four countries. A multiprofessional and service user data analysis workshop to write a good practice guide. Participants Women, who have conceived after fertility treatment in four countries, Belgium, Scotland, England and Portugal Participantes Mulheres que conceberam após tratamentos de fertilidade em quartos países: Noruega; Inglaterra; Escócia e Portugal Interventions Assisted reproductive tecnologies Intervençõs Tipo de estudo Reprodução medicamente assistida Publicações Conferências e/ou encontros Case study design, mixed methods Estudo de caso métodos mistos European meetings Academy Association School (EANS)
