7. PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY
Between 1982 and 2010 he practiced as engineering consultant in a SME of Architectural and
Engineering Design. During this period he was responsible for a large number of Structural
Designs, ranging from housing and office buildings, swimming-pools, services buildings (public
libraries, health centres), water supply reservoirs and wastewater treatment plants; from 1990 he
was also charged with the coordination and management of the diverse individual expertise designs
developed in the company (architectural, structural, facilities).

During this period he was also responsible for several studies commissioned by private construction
companies and clients, namely Design Checking and Review of documents and specifications
put to tender, Development of a Risk Analysis tool for application in construction
planning. He was also responsible for the development of an Evaluation Procedure for a
tender for Project Management consultancy in the scope of a national project for urban
rehabilitation.
He was an associate of APOGEP – Portuguese Project Management Association – and was awarded
the qualification of Certified Senior Project Manager / Level B recognized by IPMA International Project Management Association, between 1999 and 2009.
