PRESENTATION
I have been dealing with Natural Language Processing (NLP) since 1995, when I joined NILC), the most important and active Brazilian
group in NLP, where I led several different projects, including ReGra (a Brazilian Portuguese Proofing Tools Kit, licensed to the Microsoft
Corporation) and UNL (an interlingua-based machine translation project supported by the United Nations University). I’m currently a
lecturer in the post-graduate program of Linguistics at the University of Vale do Sapucai, in Brazil, and the language resources manager of
the UNDL Foundation, in Geneva, Switzerland. I have also worked as a freelancer for several organizations (Lionbridge, Appen Buttler Hill,
Nuance).
