In the year that the Programme of Post-Graduation in Letters (PPGL) commemorates its 45th
anniversary, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), by way of PPGL,
will host DUO VII (Dialogue Under Occupation International), an itinerant and interdisciplinary
event, between the 28th and 30th of October, 2015. The event has already been hosted in
Chicago (USA), Abu Dis (Jerusalem), Bogota (Colombia), Washington DC (USA), Okinawa

and areas such as philosophy, sociology, education, communication, psychology, etc., to
interchange experiences about relevant and current studies of “dialogue”, contemplating
three broad themes: Dialogue in Perspective, Intercultural Dilemmas, and Expressions of
Conflict.

education, communication, psychology, etc., as well as interested members of the general

sciences, including the aforementioned disciplines. It’s based on the idea that “conflict” is also
an issue that opens spaces in which it allows dialogue in its various dimensions and language
expressions. Also included is research on different cultural contexts of relationships in which
there are conflicts, dilemmas, and strained relations in different spheres of human activity,
such as labor, art, education, politics, media, religion, medicine, environment, economy etc.
