Patricia Pereira, Jason Gomes and Amanda Pires Cristovão de Aguiar Feb 27, 2014 Louis Christopher Dias de Aguiar , who uses the name of Christopher de Aguiar when referring to his work, is a Portuguese writer, who was born in 1940 in Pico da Pedra in the Island of São Miguel, Azores. He graduated from the University of Coimbra with a bachelor in Germanic Philology. After Vitorino Nemésio, he is considered the greatest writer of literature written by an Azorean. His work is considered important contemporary Portuguese literature. He was awarded the Order of Infante D. Henrique in 2001 and honored by the Faculdade de Letras (Faculty of Arts and Science) of the University of Coimbra in 2005. He has been an author for approximately forty years and a book has been published in his honour "Tributo ao Cristovão de Aguiar.” This book contains all or almost all criticism and essays on the work of the author during his literary life. He has written various literary pieces including novels, short stories, poetry, essays, and diaries and has translated two pieces from English into Portuguese. None of his work has been translated into English. At 17 years of age, she published in Ponta Delgada's collected poetry 'Ainda Não O Silêncio '. Shortly after she published 'Setembro e Outras Estaçoes '. In 1987 she received the first Revelation Prize in Fiction by Portuguese Association of Writers. In 1992, she won the First Nunes da Rosa award for her work. In 2001, she published her first novel titled ‘Afectos De Alma’. She is also currently a journalist for RTP Açores. Judite Jorge has written four novels, Ainda Não O Silêncio, Permanências, Setembro e Outras Estaçoes, and Afectos De Alma. She also writes poetry. None of her novels have been translated into English.
