Aims and Scope We are proud to state that the Journal of Transport Literature (JTL-RELIT) is the only scientific journal in the world with a strong focus on emerging transport markets. By emerging markets we mean transportation industries from country with social and economic activity in the process of rapid growth and industrialization, like China, India and Brazil. JTLRELIT aims at contributing to the scientific development of the transport field in those rapiddevelopment regions. Our focus on emerging markets does not mean we only receive submissions on this subject. On the contrary, JTL-RELIT welcomes contributions from all over the world, as experiences from highly-developed countries are key to scientific progress of the area. JTL publishes original research papers on all aspects of the transport economics and management, covering all transport means and infrastructure associated. JTL also publishes papers on transport-related sectors, such as tourism, fuel, etc. The journal aims to cover the latest outstanding developments in the field, which are published in the Research Directory section. Review articles and technical reports are published in the Reviews & Essays Section of the journal. Areas covered by JTL-RELIT (not exhaustive): Transport economics, logistics, management and planning Transport regulation, public policy and privatization Social-economic, regulatory and environmental impacts of transports Upstream and Downstream sectors, such as infrastructure, fuel, distribution and tourism Indexing JTL-RELIT is freely available in bibliographic databases and repositories of scientific papers on the internet. These academic databases have search engines that provide potential readers with a rapid access to its papers. The goal is to maximize the visibility of articles published in the journal. JTL-RELIT is currently available in the following databases: Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Academic Journals Database, Sumários and Livre. Papers published in JTL-RELIT are also easily and freely available from Google Scholar. Editorial Policy The editorial policy of the Journal of Transport Literature (JTL-RELIT) is described below. JTL-RELIT typically publishes its four editions in the beginning of each year. Authors may submit their papers across the year. Authors aiming at publishing in JTL in a given year, however, must submit their manuscripts until October of the past year. Occasionally, and given the inherent quality of submitted papers, the editors may consider different deadlines. Our policy is to provide refereeing and publication decisions within three months of receipt of manuscript. Some papers may take more time, but we are strictly committed to editorial times. JTL-RELIT considers submissions of papers previously presented in conferences, symposia and seminars. The journal strongly encourages authors to present their research in many research forums and improve their papers according to comments received before submission. The journal contains two sections: Research Directory and Reviews & Essays Research Directory The purpose of the Research Directory Section is to present the transportation community with original, high-quality research. Papers published in this Section contain the latest outstanding developments in the field and innovative contributions to the study of the problems of emerging transportation markets. Reviews & Essays The purpose of the Essays & Surveys Section is to help transportation researchers and practitioners keep abreast of research in the field. To this end, the journal publishes extended survey articles and essays, and book reviews. Papers published in this section must be formatted as a self-contained article, providing the reader with a broader view of the covered area of subject (extended survey), instead of simply reviewing an article or book. Essays with less innovative but interesting papers are also published in this section. About the publisher JTL-RELIT is published by BTPS, the Brazilian Transport Planning Society. The aim of BTPS is to provide a professional society for academics and practitioners with an interest in the field of Transport Planning, Economics and Management.
