Professional interests
A position that requires creativity and technical skills, potentially involving both theoretical and applied
research. An international environment that combines team work and possible activities abroad, together
with leading researchers in my fields of interest. This position should be either in academia or a renowned
research institution.
Research interests
My research interests are mostly focused on: network management, network traffic measurements and
analysis, traffic engineering, DNS operations, routing and addressing, and software-defined networking.

• Initial study on the quality of traffic measurement data from OpenFlow switches.
• Investigated the feasibility of using OpenFlow measurement data for link dimensioning and
implemented a prototype to demonstrate our findings.

Personal interests
Music
I own a handcrafted western acoustic guitar. In the past I have played in amateur bands, mostly
on classic rock & roll. I also like playing bass guitar and drums.
Sports
I am a big fan of sports. Currently, I play for two indoor soccer clubs (futsal) at the University of
Twente. One of them I captained during 2013. I also play tennis, and I enjoy both summer and

I enjoy the process of traveling and knowing different cultures. Until now, I have travelled to
countries in Europe, South America and North America.
Books
I like reading general knowledge books. The latest books I have read (by mid-2014) are: A Short
History of Nearly Everything by B. Bryson, The Greatest Show on Earth by R. Dawkins, Physics
of the Impossible by M. Kaku and A Universe from Nothing by L. Krauss. I also enjoy reading
novels, and D. Adams and J. R. R. Tolkien are among my favorite authors.
