AMAZONIA has a rich
biodiversity of fish , plants ,
fruits, roots and trees that can
economic development
be used sustainably in the areas
of herbal medicine ,
pharmaceutical , production of
cosmetics, food , generation of
carbon credits and various other
forms and systems to ensure
sustainable development.
Seven Brazilian States are involved in the Structuring
Project for Amazon Forest-Based Cosmetics:
Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Roraima,
Rondonia and Tocantins.
During Green Rio 2013 event, it took place
the Sebrae’s Seminar “Amazon ForestBased Cosmetics”.
Brazil is the third largest cosmetics
consumer in the world. The most
important segment in this sector is
personal care products.
