João Luís Carrilho da Graça, architetto, consegue la laurea in Architettura presso la Escola Superior de Belas Artes di Lisbona
nel 1977, anno in cui ha inizio la sua attivitá professionale.
La sua opera é insignita di vari premi e riconoscimenti, tra cui: RIBA internation fellowship nel 2015, medaglia dell’ Academie
d’Architecture Française nel 2012, il titolo di “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” della Repubblica Francese nel 2010, il “Prémio
Pessoa” nel 2008, l’ Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Portoghese nel 1999 e l’ “AICA Award” dalla International Association of
Art Critics nel 1992.
Viene riconosciuta, inoltre con: l’ “AIT award 2012 - transportation” per il Ponte Pedonale da Carpinteira, il Premio
Internazionale di Architettura Sacra “Frate-Sole”, per la Chiesa di Sant’Antonio a Portalegre, nel 2012, il “Piranesi Prix de
Rome” nel 2010 per il progetto di Musealizzazione del sito archeologico “Praça Nova” presso il “Castelo de São Jorge”, il Premio
“Valmor” nel 2008 per la Scuola di Musica di Lisbona, il premio “FAD” nel 1999 e il premio “Valmor” nel 1998 per il Padiglione

Professore presso la Scuola di Architettura dell’ Universitá Tecnica di Lisbona ,1977-1992 e dal 2014.
Professore presso la Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa dal 2001 al 2010 e presso la Universidade de Évora dal 2005, dove ha
diretto il Dipartimento di Architettura, fino al 2010.
Visiting Professor presso la Scuola di Architettura dell’ Università di Navarra nel 2005, 2007, 2010 e nel 2014.
Gensler Visiting Critic presso Cornell University, Ithaca NY, nel 2015.
Responsabile per l’istituzione del Ph.D in Architettura presso la Universidade de Évora.
Direttore del Ph.D. in Architettura e docente nei Laboratori di Progetto I e II presso la University of Évora, dal 2011 al 2013.
Nel 2013 riceve il Ph.D. “honoris causa” dalla Scuola di Architettura dell’ Universidade Tecnica de Lisboa.
