In 2011, Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado carried out the largest edition of the 13th International
Machine-Tools and Integrated Manufacturing Systems Fair and the 11th International Quality Control Fair,
from May 23 to 28.
Over 71,800 visitors, from which 1345 came from 59 countries – among business people, engineers,
production and maintenance technicians, college students and others – came to get to know the most
technology advanced, innovative machinery, equipment and tools in the world, manufactured by exhibitors
representing 1341 brands from Brazil and abroad.
According to estimates from businesspeople, an increase between 20% and 30% was noticed in the
negotiations with clients compared to the previous edition. These numbers show the nice moment the
country has been experiencing after recovering from the world financial crisis between 2008 and 2009. In
2011, the machine-tool industry achieved gross revenues of R$ 1.5 billion.
The machine-tool industry is an important indicator that the Brazilian industry is heated and making
significant investments in the acquisition of new equipment to expand the production capacity and to
become more competitive technologically.
The success of FEIMAFE/QUALIDADE 2011 conveyed the huge level of optimism that dominated both
