USE
The Sound Wave is a multi-tone instrument, combining the deep sounds and four tones of the
Slitdrum on one side and the Monochord on the other with twenty blank and twenty covered strings.
The strings are tuned with one octave difference.
As the name implies, the Monochord has only one tone. All the blank strings are tuned in the same
tone, and the covered strings are just one octave deeper. Where as melodies naturally encourage
brain activity, the same tone encourages the mind to clear and so can encourage relaxation.
Unlike many instruments, the sound is primarily felt through the body rather than just heard through
the ears. The music is experienced through vibration.
After using the Monochord you may wish to use the Slitdrum to play a rhythm to denote the end of
the relaxation session, although this is only a suggestion and you should decide how best to use the
Sound Wave with your clients.
The Sound Wave is ergonomically designed so that the head and legs are higher than the rest of the
body. You may wish to use a stool to rest the feet on. For the comfort of the person laying on the
Sound Wave, you may wish to place a soft blanket or mat under the body.
As with the use of all musical instruments, be sensitive to individuals’ preferences and sensibilities.
Not everyone may enjoy the sensations experienced on the Sound Wave.
Bridges
(A)
A tuning bridge is included to allow you to adjust
the pitch. Smaller and more sensitive people may
prefer a higher pitch whereas larger people may
prefer a fuller, deeper sound. Adjust the pitch
according to individual needs and preferences.
(B)
The resonance bridge allows adjustment of the
tone. This bridge rests on two round bars and
should not be moved.
The tuning bridge (on the left) sits flat and can be moved
in all directions for tuning. Take this off when tuning.
This can be moved as far as required to the left to get the
deepest tone: as close as 15cm (6”) to the left outer bridge.
TUNING
Remove the tuning bridge A before tuning. Move the tuning bridge to the right towards
the resonance bridge B till it becomes loose then remove it.
The strings are not fully tightened for transportation purposes. The tuning key C is
supplied attached to the Sound Wave. Put the key on the peg and turn the key whilst
strumming to tighten or loosen the strings. You may wish to use a tuning device to
check the tuning. Tune all the 20 blank strings to „f” and the 20 other strings just one
octave deeper. Do not tune the strings any higher or you run the risk of breaking
them.

Once all the strings are properly tuned, you can re-fit the tuning bridge A to vary the pitch. The
further you move this bridge to the left, the longer and deeper the tone produced. Place the tuning
bridge under the strings again, close the resonance bridge and move it as far as possible to the left –
a maximum of 15cm (6”) to the left end of the swinging part of the strings.
TO PLAY THE MONOCHORD
Strike the strings with your fingers or a plectrum or sticks (neither included). You may wish to cover
your fingers with something (e.g. leather) to protect them as the strings can feel hard.
Playing the strings closer to the bridge you will notice that the tone has more overtones than in the
middle of the string. Playing the strings in the middle may cause the strings to rattle against each
other.
Playing the strings with different amounts of force and speed will also affect the tone.
SAFETY
Always supervise the use of this product.
This product can hold up to approximately 150kg. Do not exceed this weight. However, please note
that the maximum punctual weight is 80kg i.e. if someone steps directly onto the lying surface.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
Wipe the Sound Wave with a soft, very slightly damp cloth to clean it. Do not use abrasive or heavy
duty cleaning products.
Move the Sound Wave with care, using the integral handles. The Sound Wave weighs approximately
50kg.
Do not use or store in direct sunlight.

UTILIZAÇÃO
A Onda Sonora é um instrumento multi-tom, combinando os sons
profundos e quatro tons do slitdrum de um lado e o monocórdio do outro com vinte descobertas e
vinte cobertas. As cordas estão todas afinadas com uma oitava de diferença.
Tal como o nome indica, o monocórdio tem apenas um tom. Todas as cordas descobertas estão
afinadas no mesmo tom e as cordas cobertas estão apenas uma oitava mais profundas. Tal como as
melodias encorajam a atividade cerebral, o mesmo tom encoraja a limpar a mente e encorajar o
relaxamento.
Ao contrário de muitos instrumentos, o som é primeiramente sentido pelo corpo invés de ser apenas
ouvido pelos ouvidos. A música é sentida através da vibração.
Depois de utilizar o monocórdio pode querer utilizar o Slitdrum para tocar um ritmo que denota o fim
da sessão de relaxamento, isto é apenas uma sugestão e cabe-lhe a si decidir a melhor forma de
utilizar a Onda Sonora com os seus clientes.
A Onda Sonora tem um design ergonómico para que a cabeça e pernas estejam mais altas do que o
resto do corpo. Pode utilizar um banco para descansar os pés. Para que seja mais confortável
deitar-se em cima da Onda Sonora, pode colocar uma manta macia ou colchão por baixo do seu
corpo.
Tal como com todos os instrumentos musicais, seja sensível às preferências individuais e
sensibilidades. Pode ser que nem todas a gente aprecie as sensações proporcionadas pela Onda
Sonora.
Pontes
(A)
Está incluída uma ponte de afinação que lhe permite
ajustar o tom. Pessoas mais pequenas e mais
sensíveis podem preferir um tom mais alto, ao passo
que pessoas maiores podem preferir um som mais
cheio e profundo. Ajuste o tom de acordo com as
necessidades e preferências individuais.
(B)
A ponte de ressonância permite ajustar o tom. A
ponte assenta em duas barras arredondadas e não
deve ser movida.
A ponte de afinação (à esquerda) assenta direita e pode ser movida em todas as
direções para afinar. Retire-a quando estiver a afinar. Esta pode ser movida até
onde quiser, para a esquerda para obter o tom mais profundo: até cerca de 15cm
da ponte externa esquerda.
AFINAÇÃO
Remova a ponte de afinação A antes de afinar. Mova a ponte de afinação em
direção à ponte de ressonância B até que fique solta e depois remova-a.

As cordas não estão totalmente apertadas para efeitos de transporte. A chave de afinação C é
fornecida juntamente com a Onda Sonora. Coloque a chave na cavilha e rode a chave ao mesmo
tempo que toca nas cordas para apertar ou desapertar, conforme necessário. Se quiser, pode utilizar
um afinador para facilitar este processo. Afine as 20 cordas descobertas em Fá e as outras 20
cordas apenas uma oitava mais baixa. Não afine as cordas acima desta indicação pois corre o risco
de as partir.
Quando todas as cordas estiverem devidamente afinadas, pode voltar a colocar o pente de afinação
A para variar o tom. Quanto mais para a esquerda estiver a ponte , mais longo e profundo será o
som produzido. Coloque a ponte de afinação por baixo das cordas novamente, perto da ponte de
ressonância e mova-a o mais possível para a esquerda – máximo de 15cm do fim da corda.
TOCAR O MONOCÓRDIO
Toque nas cordas com os dedos ou com uma palheta (não incluída). Se quiser pode cobrir os seus
dedos com alguma coisa (ex: pele) para os proteger pois as cordas são bastante duras.
Se tocar as cordas mais perto da ponte vai notar que o tom tem mais variações do que e tocar no
meio da corda. Tocar as cordas no meio pode fazer com que elas vibrem umas contra as outras.
Se tocar as cordas com diferentes quantidades de força e velocidade vai afetar o tom.
SEGURANÇA
Supervisione sempre a utilização deste produto.
Este produto aguenta até aproximadamente 150kg. Não exceda este peso. No entanto, tenha
atenção pois o peso máximo num só ponto é de 80kg, ex: se alguém se puser de pé diretamente em
cima da superfície de deitar.
CUIDADO E MANUTENÇÃO
Limpe a Onda Sonora com um pano macio ligeiramente humedecido para o limpar. Não Utilize
produtos de limpeza abrasivos ou agressivos.
Movimente a Onda Sonora com cuidado usando as pegas integradas. A Onda Sonora pesa
aproximadamente 50kg.
Não utilize ou guarde sob a luz solar direta.
