Arquitecto y diseñador industrial
Buenos Aires, 1946. Inicia su actividad
profesional en Argentina y se traslada a
España en 1975. Establecido en Barcelona
desde 1977, forma parte del Grupo
Berenguer, colaborando con Alberto Liévore
hasta 1984.
En 1985 funda su propio estudio
especializándose en diseño de mobiliario,
iluminación, imagen visual y montajes
para distintos tipos de acontecimientos.
Desde 1987 cuenta con Diego Slemenson
y desde 1995 con Constanze Schütz como
principales colaboradorres. También
colabora con su esposa, Carme Casares en
proyectos de diseño gráfico, y desde 1996
con Eduardo Campoamor en proyectos de
arquitectura e interiorismo.
Ha trabajado para importantes empresas
nacionales e internacionales. Entre sus
trabajos más conocidos están los productos
y la imagen de la empresa Perobell, el
diseño del montaje del SIDI, ON Diseño,
la mesa París y la silla Toledo para Amat
, la colección de lámparas para B.Lux , el
programa Gorka para Akaba, la serie Hola
para Kusch+Co las vitrinas Glassbox para
Disform, la silla Temps para Punt Mobles
y la colección Artico y Duna para Cassina.
Su labor profesional y sus productos han
recibido numerosos premios y distinciones
en todo el mundo.
Architect and industrial designer
He was born in Buenos Aires in 1946. He
begins his professional activities in Argentina
and moves to Spain in 1975. He has been
established in Barcelona since 1977, he takes
part in the Grupo Berenguer collaborating
with Alberto Liévore until 1984.
In 1985 he opens his own work-study
specialising in furniture design, lightening,
visual image and settings for different types
of events.
Diego Slemenson collaborates with him since
1987, and Constance Schütz since 1995. He
also collaborates with his wife, Carmen Casares
in graphic design projects and with Eduardo
Campoamor in architecture and interior design
projects since 1996.
He has worked for relevant national and
international companies. The products and
image of the Perobell company, the design
of the SIDI setting, On Diseño, the Paris table
and the Toledo chair for Amat, the lamp
collection for B.Lux, the Gorka Programme

Arquitecto de Interiores, nacido en San
Juan de Luz,
País Vasco Francés, 1965.
Éste joven vasco se diploma en arquitectura
de interior en 1988 en la escuela de BoulleParís, y estudia Diseño Industrial en la
Escuela experimental de Madrid.
Trabaja varios años en agencias parisinas,
integrando conocimientos en materiales
plásticos.
En 1998 abre su propio taller de diseño
en San Juan de Luz. Crea diversos objetos:
botellas de agua, de cerveza, frascos de
perfume, un cepillo de dientes para
Fluocaril, sillas para niños y objetos de
puericultura para Carrefour.
Pero es el mundo del mueble al que se
dedica últimamente. Mobiliario de cocina:
c olaborando con empresas como BIOK,
PISON, SOKOA, para quienes desarrolla
colecciones de muebles y sillas.
Así como mobiliario y objetos para el hogar:
con Didheia /objetos para el baño o
Astigarraga quien acaba de editar bajo la
marca ZURA una amplia coleción de
muebles para la casa.
Interior architect
An interior architect born in San Juan de Luz,
French Basque Country.
This young basque takes a degree in interior design
in 1988 in the Boulle-Paris School and studies
Industrial Design in Madrid Experimental School.
He works in designing agencies in Paris for several
years, integrating knowledge in plastics.
In 1998 he opened his own design studio in Saint
Jean de Luz, were he created different objects: water
and beer bottles, perfume bottles, a toothbrush for
Fluocaril, children’s chairs and paediatric objects
for Carrefour.
But it is to the world of furniture that he dedicates
his work to recently collaborating with companies
such as BIOK, PISON, SOKOA, to whom he develops
a selection of pieces of furniture and chairs.
As well as furniture and objects for the home: with
Didheia/bathroom objects or Astigarraga, who has
recently edited a wide collection of furniture for
the home under the ZURA trademark.

Jon Abad Biota (Bilbao-1930) es uno de
los pioneros del diseño industrial español,
se inicia en el campo de la automoción en
los años 60 (DKW).Posteriormente se centra
en el mundo del mueble diseñando, para
empresas punteras del momento, Coima,
Gambil o Lao. En 1982 comienza la
colaboración con Nueva Linea.
En los últimos 12 años, se han ido
incorporando al estudio tres de sus hijos,
Jon Abad Agirre (1962, Arquitecto), Maria
(1963, Diseñadora), e Iker (1974, Diseñador),
configurando lo que es en la actualidad el
equipo de Abad Diseñadores.
En la actualidad continúan diseñando para
Azcue y Nueva Línea, y desde el año 2000
han iniciado un nuevo reto conjunto, la
creación de una nueva empresa: Sare, en
la que además de contribuir con algunas
piezas, colaboran como manager de
producto.
Architects
Jon Abad Biota (Bilbao-1930) is one of the pioneers
of Spanish industrial design. He started in the
automobile industry in the sixties (DKW). After this
period, he concentrated on the world of furniture
and designed for the top companies, Coima, Gambil
or Lao. In 1982 he started collaboration with Nueva
Linea.
Over the last 12 years, three of his children have
been incorporated to the studio, Jon Abad Agirre
(1962, Architect), María (1963, Designer), and Iker
(1974, Designer), who now make up the current
team of Abad Diseñadores.
At present, they are still designing for Azcue and
Nueva Linea, and from the year 2000 they have
been working on a new challenge, the creation of
a new company: Sare, in which they collaborate as
product managers as well as contributing to some
of the pieces.

Josep Lluscà (Barcelona, 1948). Diseñador
industrial por la Escuela Eina de Barcelona,
profesor de su Departamento de Diseño de
Producto y miembro del Consejo Rector de
éste.
Ha sido Vicepresidente de ADI-FAD, miembro
del Consejo de Diseño de la Generalitat de
Catalunya y del Consejo Asesor de la
Fundación BCD.
Desde 1972 ha colaborado con prestigiosas
empresas internacionales: Cassina, Driade,
Enea, Flos, General Electric, Oken, Permasa,
Rosenthal, Sanyo, Sara Lee, Seat, WMF.
La diversificación de sus proyectos le han
permitido colaborar en áreas industriales
tan diversas como: iluminación, mobiliario,
packaging, electrodomésticos, electrónica
aplicada, juguetes, equipamiento urbano,
menaj e, material eléctrico, automoción y
transporte, etc.
Ha recibido prestigiosos premios
internacionales de diseño: Delta de Oro de
ADI-FAD, “Industrial Design Excellence
Award” de la Industrial Design Society of
America ( USA), “IF-Product Design Award
for Excellence Design” del IF-Industrie Forum
Design de Hannover, “Best of Neocon” en

Industrial designer
Josep Lluscà (Barcelona 1948). He has a degree on
Industrial Design by the Escuela Eina de Barcelona,
he is a lecturer in the Products Design Department
and a Member of the Rectorate Council.
He has held positions as a Vice-president of ADIFAD, a Member of the Design Council of the
Generalitat de Cataluña (Catalans Government) and
of the Adviser Council of the BCD Foundation.
Since 1972 he has been collaborating with
prestigious international companies: Cassina, Driade,
Enea, Flos, General Electric, Oken, Permasa, Rosenthal,
Sanyo, Sara, Lee, Seat, WMF. The diversity of his
projects has enable him to collaborate in industrial
areas as different as: lightening, furniture,
packaging, electrical household appliances, applied
electronics, toys, urban equipment, menage, electrical
materials, automotive industry and transport, etc..
