Regulation Medical Portuguese Course
Article 1 - Definition
1.1. The Medical Portuguese Course is a project of the Department of
International Mobility of the Medical Students Nucleus of the Academic Association of
Coimbra (NEM / AAC) organized for the students of the Erasmus + Program, in order to
provide them not only with medical portuguese language skills but also to further
develop their mastery of the language.
1.2. The course is taught in a after-work schedule, every Monday from 20h00 to
21h30, and consists of 7 classes.The Lessons take place in a classroom environment.
1.3. Attached is the general plan lessons.
Article 2 - Conditions for participation
2.1. All students who are in currently doing an Erasmus + Exchange or another
exchange program bound to FMUC may apply for the Medical Portuguese Course
2.2. No previous certified knowledge of portuguese is required but it is
advisable that students already have some general knowledge. Classes will will be
taught in Portuguese.

Article 3 - Enrollment
3.1. Those interested in attending the course must apply online through the
website www.nemaac.net.
3.2. The minimum number of participants is 11. The maximum number is 25.
3.3. After obtaining the confirmation of enrollment, the waiver of liability must
be handed in within 5 business days.
Article 4 - Payment
4.1. The student must make the single payment € 20 before the course starts.
This can be done in person, with the NEM/AAC secretary at Pólo 3
(open every
weekday from 9 am to 18h).
Article 5 - Withdrawal from the Course
5.1. Withdrawal from the Course is defined as droping out from the course from
the moment the Waiver of Liability to the end of the course.
5.2. The participant has a period of 5 business days after obtaining the
confirmation of enrollment to inform of their will to withdraw. This should be
communicated via email to [email protected].
5.3. The withdrawal determines that the no Course Certificate be issued for the
referred participant.
5.5. The paragraphs above shall not apply in the following cases:
a) facts not attributable to the participant (illness or injury), whose evidence may
be required by the Department of International Mobility
of the Medical Students
Nucleus of the Academic Association of Coimbra (NEM / AAC) ;
b) other situations upon decision of the Department of International Mobility of
NEM/AAC

In this situation, the student must inform the Department of International
Mobility of NEM/AAC and clearly justify the withdrawal with the minimum of delay.
Article 6 - Attendency
6.1. Participants attending the course may skip a maximum of two lessons,
which should be communicated to the [email protected] via email.
6.2. If the above conditions are not met, the participant will not receive the
Certificate of Participation.
6.3. From this point are excluded from the following situations:
a) facts not attributable to the participant (illness or injury), whose evidence may
be required by DMI-NEM / AAC;
b) other situations to be resolved by DMI-NEM / AAC.
In this situation, the participant must inform the DMI-NEM / AAC as soon as
possible.
Article 7 - Waiver of Liability
7.1. The DMI-NEM / AAC can not be held responsible for any incident that may
take place during the course.
Article 8 - Certificate of Participation
8.1. All conditions above being met, the Certificate of Participation will be
available in the NEM/AAC website.
Article 9 - Final Considerations
9.1. All participants must be awarded all the same conditions, rights and duties
in their access to the course, in accordance with the norms of the present Regulation.

9.2. Participation in the Medical Portuguese Course implies acceptance in full of
this Regulation.
9.3. These regulations may only be amended by approval at a meeting of the
NEM/AAC Board.
Article 10 - Omissions
10.1. Any doubts or omissions arising from the implementation of this
regulation will be resolved by the Coordinators of the Department of International
Mobility, together with the Board of NEM/AAC.
Article 11 – Validation of this Regulation
11.1. This Regulation shall be enforced immediately after its approval at a
meeting of NEM/AAC Board.
