Message from the President
A sustentabilidade sempre se constituiu em nosso maior desafio, desde o inicio das nossas
atividades empresariais em outubro de 1961.
Definimos, já naquela época, que a estruturação harmônica da componente econômica, da
componente social e da preservação dos recursos naturais, iniciava pelo combate contínuo a
qualquer tipo de desperdício, de forma sistêmica.
Os resultados obtidos ao longo destes cinquenta anos expressam a assertividade da escolha do
rumo da sustentabilidade harmônica, onde hoje nossa empresa construiu seu maior processo no
equilíbrio entre os três vetores: o desenvolvimento econômico, a responsabilidade social e a
responsabilidade ambiental, que nos conduziram aos maiores reconhecimentos que uma
organização da indústria da construção do Brasil já obteve, ao ser qualificada como Empresa de
Classe Mundial, quando conquistou o Prêmio Nacional da Qualidade, através de avaliação

Message from the President
To reach sustainability has always been our main goal, since the beginning of our entrepreneur
activities, in October 1961.
At that time, we have set that an harmonic structure of the economic, social and
environmental components should start by the continuous and systemic fight against the waste.
The results obtained on our 50 years of existence express that the right path has been chosen
on the way to the harmonic sustainability. Our main process has been built through the balance
of three vectors: economical development, social responsibility and environmental concern,
which have lead us to the highest recognition ever received by a company that belongs to the
civil construction industry in Brazil, when we were qualified as a World Class Company,
receiving the National Quality Award, through external evaluation based on the Excellence
Criteria from the National Quality Foundation:

Our strategic business units, that include Cost Plus – Open Book Buildings, Corporate Buildings
and Consultory Services, whose results are detailed on this edition, can be added to our
multiple activities of institutional relationship with the local and global society, being
expressed regularly in our communication channel, the Best Home by Joal Teitelbaum
Magazine; in addition, electing exponents and delivering the Entrepreneur Warrior Trophy, we
promote a recognition to the innovative initiatives of private and public areas and of the third
sector, turning our company into a technically, socially and environmentally responsible
organization.
We don’t have any doubt that the harmonic sustainability shall be a permanent objective,
based on the quality of management fundaments, and that the 21st century will be determinant
on this goal consolidation, since government and third sector have already set it as the
mechanism that will pave the path to reach the excellence.
At last, we believe that the harmonic sustainability is the energy that generates quality of
management, by us considered the lighthouse that illuminates the future. In such a way, we

History
Em 1961, o Engenheiro Joal Teitelbaum fundou o Escritório de Engenharia que ainda hoje leva
seu nome. Desde então, é reconhecido pela alta qualidade de seus serviços prestados e
produtos entregues.
In 1961, Joal Teitelbaum founded the Engineering Company that until today carries his name.
Since then, it is recognized on behalf of the high quality of the services and the products
delivered to the costumers.
A gestão familiar e, ao mesmo tempo, profissionalizada, trouxe resultados de grande
magnitude à organização e compartilhados com seus clientes, parceiros, colaboradores e com a
sociedade.
The management by the family members, highly professionalized, brought results of great
magnitude to the company, divided with its costumers, partners, employees and society.

A empresa é reconhecida por instituições como a Fundação Nacional da Qualidade (FNQ),
Programa Gaúcho da Qualidade e Produtividade (PGQP), American Society for Quality (ASQ),
Confederação Nacional da Indústria (CNI) e Câmara Brasileira da Indústria da Construção
(CBIC), entre outras, através de inúmeras distinções conquistadas nas áreas da gestão,
qualidade, tecnologia, inovação e responsabilidade sócio-ambiental.
The company is recognized by institutions like National Quality Foundation (FNQ), Gaúcho
Program for Quality and Productivity (PGQP), American Society for Quality (ASQ), National
Industry Confederation (CNI) and Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry (CBIC),
among others, result of many awards conquered on management, quality, technology,
innovation, social responsibility and environmental areas.
Em 2003, após a conquista do Prêmio Nacional da Qualidade (PNQ), chancelado pela Fundação
Nacional da Qualidade (FNQ), a Joal Teitelbaum atingiu níveis de excelência jamais atingidos
por qualquer organização do setor da construção civil: o status de Empresa CLASSE MUNDIAL.
In 2003, after the conquer of the National Quality Award (PNQ), from the National Quality
Foundation, Joal Teitelbaum achieved excellence levels never obtained by any company from
the civil construction sector: the WORLD CLASS Company Status.
Por estas razões, a Joal Teitelbaum promoveu uma inovação em seu modelo de negócios,
passando a atuar em três Unidades de Negócios:
Construção Civil – gerenciamento e construção de empreendimentos residenciais, comerciais e
corporativos (obras para terceiros)
Gerenciamento de Empreendimentos – sistema de gerenciamento integrado (SGI) de
empreendimentos para terceiros

Based on these reasons, Joal Teitelbaum innovated on its business model, establishing three
different business units:

Joal Teitelbaum is the only company on the civil construction industry sector that has the
World Class status, for having conquered the Brazilian National Quality Award, similar to the
Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (USA) and to the European Quality Award (Europe).
In the real estate segment, its techniques and processes, all registered in the Engineering and
Architecture Regional Council, nationally awarded, results on the achieving of the highest
level of quality of its works.
In the consulting and enterprise management business units, all the management capital and
expertise obtained on more than four decades of existence are applied on its costumers,
achieving loyalty and long terms contracts of partnership.

Após a conquista do Prêmio Nacional da Qualidade em 2003, a Joal Teitelbaum, que já possuía

of employees, customers and partners, that are stimulated to donate clothes for the

Selective Collection of Residues Campaign
Na sede e nos canteiros de obra é realizada a coleta
de lixo seletivo. Todo o papel, plástico, aço e demais
resíduos são encaminhados à reciclagem, alguns deles
em parcerias com fornecedores e entidades
comunitárias. Os colaboradores, no treinamento de
integração, recebem cartilhas e um treinamento
específico neste item.
In the headquarters and the construction sites the
selective garbage collection is carried through. All
the paper, plastic, steel and other residues are
directed to the recycling, some of them in
partnerships with suppliers and communitarian
entities. The employees, in the integration training,
receive fact sheets and a specific training in this
item.

phrase about health and safety. The employee responsible for the phrase chosen by the Safety
Committee receives an award and is placed a band in the construction site with the phrase,
for stimulation and awareness of the work force.

desenvolvidos projetos em parceria com a AMARGS (Associação dos Amigos do Museu de Arte do
Rio Grande do Sul), Fundação Theatro São Pedro, Projeto Missões, Museu Júlio de Castilhos e

The CONARTE Project, created in 1985 by Eng. Joal Teitelbaum, has the mission to integrate
