HOUSE OF RAMIRES AND IN MENSAGEM

Resumo
Neste trabalho, discutimos, por meio da utilização de formulações teóricas de Roland Barthes, extraídas de O grau
zero da escritura e Aula, a escritura da pátria-nação portuguesa em A ilustre casa de Ramires, de Eça de
Queirós, e em Mensagem, de Fernando Pessoa. Uma de nossas hipóteses é a de que os dois autores, nas obras em
referência, reapropriam-se de traços identitários, em algum grau, atribuíveis à cultura portuguesa, no intuito de
tornarem suas produções culturais intersticiais àquelas pertinentes à História, à Ciência Política etc.

Abstract
In this essay it is discussed the Portuguese nation writing in Illustrious House of Ramires, by Eça de Queirós, and
in Mensagem, by Fernando Pessoa. This work is elaborated in light of Roland Barthes' theory in the books: O Grau
Zero da Escritura (Writing Degree Zero); and Aula. My hypotheses are the one that both authors, Queirós and
Pessoa, in their books recreate identity traces connected to Portuguese culture. This recreation becomes their cultural
productions an interstice in theoretical postulates on History, political Science, etc.
