Chiomenti Studio Legale in Milan and Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice Advogados in São
Paulo have helped Italian paper group Fedrigoni purchase Arjo Wiggins, the Brazilian subsidiary of
French paper producer Arjowiggins.
Lobo & de Rizzo Advogados in São Paulo advised Arjowiggins, a division of French paper group
Sequana. The purchase closed for 85 million euros (US$92 million) on 19 May.
Fedrigoni acquired the company through its Brazilian subsidiary Arconvert Brasil. The sale reflects
Sequana’s intention to focus their business on distribution instead of paper production. Distribution
now accounts for two-thirds of the company’s sales.
Fedrigoni was founded in 1888 and has annual turnover of US$950 million. It created Arconvert
Brasil as a local production and distribution arm in 2009.
