Rui Manuel Janes Cartaxo
Mr. Rui Cartaxo Holds a degree in Economics from the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa.
Currently, Mr. Rui Cartaxo is Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Executive
Committee of REN-Redes Energéticas Nacionais, SGPS, S.A., and between 2007 and 2010 was Executive
Director.
From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Rui Cartaxo was Executive Director of Galp Energia, Director of several
companies of the GALP Group and also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lisboagás and GDP
Distribuição.
Mr. Rui Cartaxo, was CEO of Galp Power from 1999 to 2002, Executive Director of Transgás from 1995 to
1999 and from 1992 to 1995 was Executive Director of CN—Comunicações Nacionais SGPS.
In the early stages of his professional career, Mr. Rui Cartaxo was economist at Banco de Portugal,
General Director at the Ministry of the Treasury and Consultant in the research department of OCDE (in
Paris).
