OPEN CALL FOR A RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
Open call for a Research Fellowship within the Project “The Economic Valuation and
Governance of Marine and Coastal Ecosystem Services” financed by the Calouste
Gulbenkian Foundation in the following conditions:
1. Scientific Area: Environmental Economy
2. Admission Requirements: Holders of a Masters degree in Economy, with a
specialization in ecological/economic modeling, proficiency in English (spoken and
written) and good working knowledge in IT. Experience and motivation in the area
of the research project will be valued.
3. Scope of Activity: Data collection and treatment within the project.
4. Legislation and applicable regulation: Statute of the Fellow of Scientific
Investigation, approved by the Law n.º 40/2004, 18th of August, altered and
republish by the Law-Decree nº 202/2012, of 27th of August and altered by
Law-Decree nº 233/2012, of 29th of October and by the Law nº 12/2013, of 29th of

5. Place of Work: The Fellow’s activity will be developed in the Research Unit of
Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) of Universidade Nova de
Lisboa. The scientific orientation will be in charge of Professor Antonieta da Cunha
e Sá, Prof. Clara Costa-Duarte and Prof. Luís Catela Nunes.
6. Duration of the activity: Duration of 6 months, with a previewed start on the 1st of
August of 2015.
7. Monthly maintenance value: The fellowship’s amount is of €980 per month,
according to the table of values of the fellowships directly attributed by the FCT, I.P.
in the country (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), being the payment done to
the Fellow through Bank Transfer.

10. Notification of the Results: All candidates will be notified through e-mail of the
Final Evaluation Result.
11. Application Documents: Motivation letter accompanied by Curriculum Vitae,
copies of all certificates of the degrees obtained, of an Identification document and
Fiscal Identification number. Updated document proving current professional status
(possible of being substituted for an honor statement in the case the applicant is not
currently employed or exercising any professional services).
