Rui Paulo Jinó Moreno, born in Cascais, Portugal on the 20 of June, 1961. Married with
Isabel Maria Pedro Jorge. One daughter, Maria João, born in 1990.
Grade in Medicine by the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa
in 31 of July, 1985.
Resident in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Public
Health in the Hospital Distrital de Cascais in 1986-1987.
Registrar in Internal Medicine in the Hospitais Civis de Lisboa, Hospital de Santo António
dos Capuchos in 1988-1992. This period included education in Infectious Diseases (6
months) and Intensive Care Medicine (11 months).
Speciality certification in Internal Medicine in January 1993. Member of the Portuguese
Board of Internal Medicine since September 1993.
Consultant (Assistente Hospitalar de Medicina Interna) in the Hospitais Civis de Lisboa,
Hospital de Santo António dos Capuchos since 1994.
Working on a full-time basis in Intensive Care Medicine since 1991. Training and experience
in all the techniques used on that field including bronchofibroscopy and echocardiography.
