Manuel Luís Cochofel was born in Huambo, Angola. Lives and works between
Lisbon and Covilhã, Portugal.
He has a degree in Music by Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (Lisbon Music
University) and studied for one year in Copenhagen, in the Royal Conservatory, with
an Erasmus scholarship.
Autodidact in photography, he took a course on Image Theory at Cenjor with José
Carlos Abrantes and an Aestethics Course with José Manuel Rodrigues at AR.CO in
Lisbon. In 2013 he enrolled in a photographic project course with António Júlio
Duarte at Atelier de Lisboa.
Represented by AFK Gallery, Lisbon, some of his works where bought by public and
private institutions in Portugal and abroad.
