‘Relational Agency - the relational turn in professional practices’

Resumo
In this presentation Anne Edwards will draw on her recent studies of professional learning
among practitioners who work in and with schools. She will argue that expertise should not be
seen as simply individual exercise of a personal attribute, but should involve the ability to work
with others on the complex problems that face professional who work with children. Relational
agency is offered as a way of understanding how professional practice is enhanced through
collaboration. The importance of building common knowledge to mediate collaborations will
be discussed, and the implications for professional training identified.
