Photographic collection donated by the Jorge Martins Construction
Firm to the laboratory. The collection has 115 photos with records of
works from 1930-50s under construction and completed, mostly in the
state of Pernambuco, but also with works in Alagoas. The photos are
being restored, scanned and classified for further researches.

The XI Seminar, whose theme is The Expanded Field of
the Modern Movement, invites professionals and
reserarchers interested in architectural, urban and cultural
modern creations. April 2016, Recife/PE.
Result of the Conservation of Modern Architecture Course,
the plan presents the challenges of conserving modern
architecture and applies a methodology of intervening in a
modern building, the Ana Rosa Falcão de Carvalho
Kindergarten, a remarkable building in Recife from the 1950s.

Goiana is located on the northern coast of the state of
Pernambuco. Its historic center was declared a National
Heritage in 1938. In 2014-15, undergraduate students of third
and fourth years developed conservation and expansion
projects for the city in a partnership with the Municipal
Development Agency (ADGoiana/PE).

Eight experts from different areas) debate the notion of
public space and urban development in Brasil and its
implications in our cities. With over 100.000 views, the movie
was displayed in national film festivals, academic debates
and freely distributed for the public.

internal rehabilitation of an exhisting building in Recife’s
historic site, for educational and institutional uses.

These two films deepen themes started in Velho Recife
Novo. #1 talks about disastrous urban reforms in Recife’s
history, that destroyed its heritage, and #2 deals with the
privatization of the beach and environmental destruction in
the city’s expansion process.
