Technical Catalog Wood Panels Duratex was founded in 1951, whose shares are controlled by the Itause Group and Companhia Ligna de Investimentos. It is the largest manufacturer of engineered wood panels in the Southern Hemisphere. With its factories in the states of Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio Grande do Sul, Duratex has ten wood panel production lines and an efficient logistics system. These modern industrial facilities, which are in constant technological evolution, are divided into four MDF production lines, three MDP production lines, and three hardboard production lines. Duratex Forest 2 Respect for the environment is in our roots Duratex’s commitment to the preservation of nature is present in everything the company does. This commitment is realized through an efficient management of the company’s natural resources, the continuous improvement of its processes, and the pursuit of a rigid policy aimed at minimizing environmental impacts. Environmental management also makes a strategic difference for the company. Duratex has over 230,000 hectares of planted forests, and conducts ongoing programs aimed at identifying and monitoring the local biodiversity. All that in order to achieve high productivity levels with the least impact on nature. iso iso 9001 ISO 14001 certified EMS ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facilities 14001 The first Latin American company to get an FSC certification Member of ISE (Business Sustainability Index) The only building material company in Latin America selected to Dow Jones Sustainability World Index 3 Get to know our product lines Page 6 MDF Madefibra madefibra ultra madefibra bp madefibra bp ultra madefibra pD MADEFIBRA BP |ROVERE MARSALA - ESSENTIAL WOOD LINE Page 12 Page 18 MDP HARDboard Madepan duratree madeplac bp duraplac madeplac FF duraplac BP MADEPLAC BP |DIAMOND WHITE - ESSENTIAL LINE MDF MEDIUM DENSITY FIBERBOARD WITH HIGH MACHINABILITY, WHICH ALLOWS FOR ROUNDED FINISHES WITH A SPECIAL TOUCH OF BEAUTY AND DESIGN. MDF – Medium Density Fiberboard is produced by Duratex under the brand name MaDeFibra. This type of fiberboard is made from selected reforestation of pine and eucalyptus wood fibers. These fibers, which are bonded with a synthetic thermosetting resin, are consolidated by heat and pressure into a solid, highly-resistant fiberboard panel with smooth surfaces. Uncoated MaDeFibra is an extraordinary product due to its high machinability, a feature that distinguishes this Duratex product from the other wood panels. It can be undercut and turned on lathe, thus allowing for different finish possibilities. In the uncoated fiberboard category, Duratex also offers MaDeFibra Ultra with double protection - against humidity and termites – and its exclusive green core which allows for easy identification of the product. Easy execution of finishes is a great differentiating feature of MaDeFibra fiberboard. Thus its surfaces, without final finish, behave in a way that is similar to or better than that of massive wood, thus eliminating prior surface preparation. MaDeFibra fiberboard surfaces make an excellent substrate for all types of painting and coating. MaDeFibra is also available with coating – MaDeFibra BP – with melamine laminates on one or both sides. When coated on both sides MaDeFibra fiberboard becomes an even more advantageous product, since it does not require additional finishing, and its use eliminates production steps and saves time. MaDeFibra BP’s quality is taken so seriously that each fiberboard panel is individually identified, and bears its product name, the name of the place where it was made, and the date and time of sanding, thus allowing for it to be traced and providing total product reliability. MaDeFibra PD, in its turn, is MDF for doors, partition walls, and furniture, mainly for use for cabinet and drawer dividers, backs and bottoms. When used for these purposes, it is available in neutral colored patterns allowing harmonious combinations with the other patterns available in the Duratex fiberboard product line. Another option in coated fiberboard is MaDeFibra BP Ultra. It features protection against humidity, termites and bacteria, and can be identified by its exclusive green core. All variants of this Duratex fiberboard are the result of a careful production process carried out in technologically advanced facilities, this allows the company to provide the market with quality products of guaranteed origin and excellence. 7 MADEFIBRA BP is MADEFIBRA fiberboard coated with low-pressure melamine laminate. Owing to hot-pressing, the laminate fuses to the surface of the board, thus forming a solid, inseparable panel. MDP stands for Medium Density Particleboard. It is a new generation of engineered wood panels manufactured by Duratex with the world’s most advanced technologies, which allow for obtaining a homogeneous particleboard of great stability and with flat, smooth surfaces. MaDePan’s excellence begins with the raw-materials, which are made from eucalyptus trees carefully grown by Duratex. Like all products manufactured by the company, MDP is made at manufacturing plants that excel in their use of technology, under strict international quality-control standards. This ensures the product’s features: great tensile and bending strength, low water absorption and less warping. In addition, it is a fiberboard of high superficial density, which allows for excellent finish in painting and coating. MaDePlac BP’s quality is taken so seriously that each fiberboard is individually identified, and bears its product name, the name of the place where it was made, and the date and time of sanding, thus allowing for it to be traced and providing total product reliability. MaDePlac FF, in its turn, is coated with finish foil-like cellulosic film especially treated with varnish, which allows for different gloss levels or prepares for later varnishing. Each one of these panels is designed for specific uses, and provides benefit that important due to its feature and excellence. Duratex’s MDP is also available with coating in two variants: MaDePlac BP with melamine laminate coating on one or both sides. When coated on both sides MaDeFibra fiberboard becomes an even more advantageous product in the furniture industry, since it does not require additional finishing, and its use eliminates production steps and saves time. 13 Duratex mdP product line PRODUCTS DESCRIPTION OPTIONS MaDePan Uncoated MDP Allows for coating with wood sheets, laminated plastic, PVC and other materials, in addition to paint finish coating MaDePlac BP MDP coated on one or two sides with low-pressure melamine laminate Available in smooth or textured finishes on both sides MaDePlac FF MDP coated with finish foil-like cellulosic film protected by a varnish layer Available in semi-matte or glossy finishes, ready for final use PRODUCTS THICKNESS* (mm) SIZES* (mm) MaDePan 10/12/15/18/25/28** 1840 x 2750 / 2100 x 2750 2200 x 2750 MaDePlac BP 15/18/25 1840 x 2750 MaDePlac FF 12/15/18 1840 x 2750 SIZES * For other thicknesses and sizes, please contact us. **Please, contact us.
