AEM – THE PORTUGUESE ISSUERS ASSOCIATION
Founded on December 15th, 2010,
AEM (The Portuguese Issuers Association) is a non-profit organization
incorporated as a collective legal entity in accordance with the
Portuguese law, with the aim of pursuing the common interests of the
Association’s members.
AEM’s members are the entities and companies issuing securities, which
are traded on a regulated market based, or operating, in Portugal.
Currently, AEM already represents all the issuing corporations and group
of companies listed on the Lisbon Stock Exchange Index PSI 20, as well as
the majority of other issuing companies.
The Association began its activity in February 2011.

PROMOTING THE COMPETITIVENESS OF ISSUER COMPANIES AND THE
DEVELOPMENT OF THE PORTUGUESE CAPITAL MARKET
To represent and defend, in an integrated way, the collective interests of
the Portuguese issuers, namely in what regards the regulatory processes
concerning the capital markets, and its stakeholders, and the promotion
of the good development and competitiveness of the Portuguese
securities market, through the public expression of opinions and
positions, as a partner in all decision making processes.

STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
STRATEGIC PRIORITIES SET OUT FOR 2012
Proactive and interventionist monitoring, in particular, of the ongoing legal
initiatives in the European Union.
Proactive and interventionist monitoring, in general terms, of all the
regulatory processes with a potential impact on the activity and business of
the Issuer companies, including matters of Corporate Governance.
Development of specific initiatives regarding access solutions to the capital
market for small and medium sized Issuer companies.
Proactive and interventionist involvement in respect to the costs borne by
the Issuer companies derived from their presence in the market, including
the early identification of the mentioned costs.
Development of initiatives that may enable an improved dialogue between
Issuers and their shareholders, in a shareholder transparency context.
Consolidation of the Association’s intervention scope and visibility as well
as the spirit of Community in the whole of the Issuer companies and the
Portuguese market.
