Carlos Rodrigues was born in Lçº Marques, Mozambique, in 1953 and lives in Faro with Graça and son











He qualified from the University of Oporto in 1979
In 1990, he undertook Fellowship of the National Health Service(Serviço Nacional de Saúde, SNS ) and has
been admitted as Specialist of General Surgery in Hospital Distrital de Faro, in Faro
He is Fellowship of the College of Surgeons of the Portuguese Medical Association (Ordem dos Medicos)
since 1995
In 1999, he became Consultant in General Surgery
In 1999, he undertook the first Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS, ACS) Student and Instructor Course
in Lisbon and has been teaching those courses ever since. He is the local (Faro) Director of the ATLS
program since 2004
He undertook the Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC) course in Coimbra, in 2006.He integrated the
Faculty of the DSTC course in Coimbra 2009 ,Madeira e Porto in 2010, and Lisboa in 2011.
He is member of the Oncologic Coordination Commission, since 2007
Since 2008 member of ESTES .
Reviewer for the ESTES congress , 11th European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery in 2010.
In 2008, he became Senior Consultant in General Surgery.
Actually retired from SNS works in Gambelas Private Hospital.
