LOCALIZATION
Leiria city is to be found at a distance of 120 km from Lisbon
and 180 km from O’Porto.
If you are coming from abroad you can choose to arrive at two airports:
Aeroporto Sá Carneiro (O’Porto) or Aeroporto da Portela (Lisbon). To
travel to Leiria you should choose between travelling by car or by bus.
The city has very poor train services.

TRAVELING TO LEIRIA
BY CAR
If you are traveling from the South:
Take the A1highway towards the North (Norte) and turn off at
the only exist towards “Leiria” or take the A8 highway towards
the North (Norte) and turn off at the first exist towards "Leiria
Sul".
If you arfe traveling from the North:
Take the A1highway towards the South (Sul) and turn off at
the only exist towards “Leiria” or take Highways A29,
A17 e A8, down the coast towards tg South (Sul) and turn off
at the second exist towards "Leiria Sul".
If you are coming from the interior – the Beiras:
Take highway A23 towards Torres Novas and then turn into
the A1 highway towards the North (Norte) or take highway
A25 towards Aveiro and then follow the A1 highway and
travel South (Sul).

LISBON
ARRIVAL AT PORTELA AIRPORT
The best way to travel from Lisbon to Leiria is by bus (Rede Nacional de
Expressos) leaving from the Terminal de Sete Rios. Price12.50€.

FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE BUS:
TAXI: Take the taxi outside the airport. The trip from the airport to the bus
terminal – Rede Expressos – takes about 15 minutes. Price: about15€.
UNDERGROUND (METRO): The airport underground terminal is open from
6h30 to 1h00. Take the red line, and get of at S. Sebastião, take the blue
line and get off at the Jardim Zoológico/Sete Rios eand walk towards
the Bus Terminal – Rede Expressos. Price: 1.40€. You have to buy a Viva Viagem
Card at the underground station for 0.50€

EUROBUS: You can take a bus just outside the arrivals terminal – circuito 2:
Financial Centre – that will take you directly to the bus terminal – Rede
Expressos (Sete Rios) . Price: 5.50 € (return ticket) you can buy the ticket from the

ARRIVAL AT SÁ CARNEIRO AIRPORT
The best way to travel to Leiria is by bus (Rede Nacional de Expressos) that
leaves from the BatalhaTerminal - Rua Alexandre Herculano. Price 15.50€.

FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE BUS:
TAXI: You can take a taxi which leaves from the arrivals terminal. The trip from
the airport to the bus terminal – Rede Expressos – takes about 30 minutes. Price:
about 25€.
UNDERGROUND (METRO): Take the purple line and get off at Trindade,
then take the yellow line towards Santo Ovídio and get off at S. Bento.
Note: You have to buy a Andante card (at the Metro terminal ) for Zone 4 (Z4).

BUS (STCP): Take the Linha 3M bus and get off at Avenida dos Aliados.

WALK from São Bento (Metro) or Avenida dos Aliados (Bus) to the Rede
Expressos: go up Rua 31 de Janeiro (next to the São Bento Station, towards Largo
da Batalha and from there walk to Rua Alexandre Herculano (about15 minutes).
Note: it is a steep walk.

Leiria is a small city where you can walk almost everywhere.
All the hotels we suggest are within a 20 minute walking distance from the
conference venue.
You can also use the local bus service that circles the city – MOBILIS
Week days: runs every17 minutes from 7.00to19.05; runs every 60
minutes from 19:30 to 23:00.
Saturdays : runs every 40 minutes from 7.30 to 13.10.
