Programa: Cooperação
No âmbito do programa Cooperação, fornece-se apoio à investigação em projectos de cooperação internacional em toda a União Europeia e não só. Em 10 áreas
temáticas, correspondendo a grandes domínios da ciência e da investigação, o programa irá promover o progresso do conhecimento e da tecnologia. A investigação
deverá ser apoiada e reforçada para enfrentar os desafios europeus nas áreas sociais, económicas, ambientais, de saúde pública e industriais, bem como para
prestar serviço público e apoiar os países em desenvolvimento. Áreas temáticas: Saúde; Alimentação, Agricultura e Pescas, Biotecnologia; Energia; Ambiente
(incluindo as alterações climáticas); Transportes (incluindo a aeronáutica); Ciências Socioeconómicas e Humanidades; Espaço; Segurança; Tecnologias da Informação
e Comunicação; Nano-ciências, Nanotecnologias, Materiais e Novas Tecnologias de Produção.
Área: Ciências Socioeconómicas e Humanidades
A Europa confronta-se com uma série de desafios sociais e económicos, sendo importante compreendê-los e enfrentá-los de forma eficaz através de políticas
adequadas. A longa tradição europeia nesta área de investigação, assim como com as diferentes abordagens social, económica e cultural, oferecem uma
oportunidade única para a realização deste tipo de investigação. É suposto estudarem-se e oferecerem-se respostas a questões como a alteração demográfica e a
qualidade de vida, educação e emprego, tendo em conta as actuais tendências económicas; interdependência global e de transferência de conhecimento; o bemestar das democracias e a participação política, diversidade cultural e os valores. A ligação entre investigação e política é salvaguardada ao assegurar que as questões
examinadas são de alta prioridade a nível europeu e são objecto de políticas comunitárias. As questões de investigação a serem abordadas envolverão temas como:
Crescimento, emprego e competitividade na sociedade do conhecimento; Combinação de objectivos económicos, sociais e ambientais numa perspectiva europeia;
Principais tendências na sociedade e suas implicações; A Europa no mundo; O cidadão na União Europeia; Indicadores socioeconómicos e científicos; Actividades de
prospectiva. A indústria e as PMEs serão activamente encorajadas a operar na criação de conhecimento não só como membros de equipas, mas também para
participar como receptores de conhecimento, aplicando-o na prática.
