TRAVELLING TO CASCAIS AND TO THE HOTEL - FROM LISBON AIRPORT Getting to Cascais by metro + train is by far the cheapest option and it’s quite easy too. Take the metro at Aeroporto station (there’s only one line, Red), change at Alameda to the Green line, direction Cais do Sodré, where you will get the train to Cascais. On the metro station, buy a €0.50 reusable ticket, and top up the card choosing the Zapping option (€5 min.). With a Zapping ticket, each metro journey will cost €1.25, and the train journey to Cascais €1.80. The metro from Aeroporto to Cais do Sodré takes about 20 minutes, while the train journey to Cascais takes 30-40 minutes, with trains every 10, 20 or 30 minutes, depending on the day and time of the day. (Please click here for a timetable of Cais do Sodré - Cascais trains.) Pick a seat on the left of the train — you’ll enjoy the waterside views! Getting to Cascais by taxi should cost you between €55-65, and the journey takes about 45 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. To play it safe, ask the price previously to the driver and make sure to get a receipt. Otherwise, you can purchase taxi vouchers for the defined journey at the Tourism Office in the arrivals lounge. - FROM GARE DO ORIENTE TRAIN STATION If arriving by train (from Spain, Porto or Faro), you’ll most likely stop at Gare do Oriente.
