January 2014 Domingo Ureña Raso Domingo Ureña Raso became Executive Vice President of Military Aircraft within the Airbus Defence and Space Division on January 1 2014 and is a Member of the Airbus Group Executive Committee. Prior to assuming this position, he had been Chairman and CEO of Airbus Military since February 2009. In addition, Mr. Ureña Raso is CEO of Airbus Operations in Spain and the National Representative for Airbus Group in Spain. In October 2010, Mr. Ureña Raso was nominated President of AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) and as of April 2013 continues in the management of the association as Vice Chairman of the Board. Mr. Ureña Raso started as an engineer at Construcciones Aeronauticas or CASA (which became EADS-CASA in 2000 and Airbus Military in 2009) in Spain in 1982. In 1998, he was appointed CEO and Member of the Board of Aircelle’s joint venture between Airbus and SNECMA. When the Airbus share was sold to SNECMA, he took over as President and CEO of the first privatised defence company in Poland, PZL Warszawa Okęcie, in 2002. In 2002, Mr. Ureña Raso moved to Munich, Germany, to become Head of Procurement and Member of the Board for Eurofighter. In 2004, he joined the EADS Defence division and coordinated the implementation of the shared services process and the restructuring of the division until the end of 2005. In 2006 he rejoined Airbus as Head of the new Airbus Industrial Strategy team, defining the scope of Airbus’ future core/non-core activities at aircraft level, the supply chain consolidation strategy and the Make-or-Buy policy for future programmes. Since January 2007, he was in charge of the Airbus “Power8” turn around programme, and the “Future EADS” programme. Domingo Ureña Raso was born in Camarena (Toledo), Spain in May 1958. He graduated from the Polytechnic University of Madrid with a degree in Technical Aeronautical Engineering in 1982 before obtaining an MBA from the International Board of Social Sciences (UNESCO).
