It seeks to explore the 3D geometric modelling to (a) potentiate the fresh students’ visual-spatial perception and (b) contribute for the better understanding and designing of urban areas. It is an experience that addresses the foundations of research-action. The partial results corroborate with previous research on the positive potential of 3D geometric modelling application in the development of the visual-spatial perception, as well as indicate possibilities for the enlargement of the comprehension and analysis of urban areas, by incorporating computational tools to georeferenced maps.
