Professional Experience:
At TozziniFreire Advogados, Marcelo Calliari is a partner in the Antitrust and International Trade
practice groups. He was commissioner of the Administrative Economic Defense Council (CADE),
the Brazilian Competition Commission, from 1998 to 2000. Marcelo participated as a member
of the official Brazilian delegation at various antitrust negotiations held at the WTO, OECD, FTAA
and MERCOSUR. In addition, he has worked as an editorial writer and New York correspondent
for the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, the largest daily paper in Brazil.
He has spoken frequently on Antitrust and Trade issues in events organized by the IBA, ABA,
IBRAC and some other entities around the world and has acted as a non-governmental advisor
before the ICN - International Competition Networking.
