What are Fibers por Paving?
Paving fibers are cellulose fibers added to hot asphalt mixtures, such as Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA), with the
objective of providing special features to the machined mass.

What is Genicel ?
Genicel ® is a special fiber, produced in Germany, which combines the benefits of "TECHNOCEL" fiber and of a bitumen
modifier. Thanks to its characteristics, Genicel ® offers accurate and homogeneous distribution of the modifying agent,
improving the quality of the final mixture.
Genicel ® fiber can be added manually or mechanically into the mixer of the plant after the heated aggregates.
Furthermore, the reduction of viscosity promoted by Genicel ® results in a significant reduced temperature and
application of machining. Another benefit obtained from adding Genicel ® is a reduction in the binder of around 0.2%.
Ÿ Reduction in the incidence of permanent deformation in asphalt mixtures, increasing its durability by increasing
the softening point of the binder and the reduction of penetration;
Ÿ Decreased sensitivity to climatic conditions;
Ÿ Reduction of compaction equipment;
Ÿ Reduction of the machining temperature at about 20 ° C;
Ÿ Reduction of the compaction temperature to approximately 110 ° C and the minimum level of approximately 90 °
C.

A aplicação de CBUQ na BR 277, nas proximidades de Prudentópolis/PR, utilizando CAP 50-70 com uso de fibra
Genicel®, gerou ganho na consistência final do ligante e diminuição da temperatura de aplicação da massa asfáltica.
The use of Genicel® increased the softening point of 50-70 CAP from 47°C to 78°C. The temperature of compacting
the asphaltic mass compaction was reduced to close to 110°C.
The Genicel® fiber generates greater resistance to deformation in asphalt mix and reduces the temperature of
compression, preventing worker exposure to asphalt fumes from hot mixtures.
