The construction company and its consortiums have

Perspectives
According to the Brazilian Association of Private Water and
Sewerage Utilities (Abcon), the private sector serves today
approximately 10% of the Brazilian urban population in the
provision of public services in the area of sanitation, whether
through concession contracts or through public-privatepartnerships (PPPs).
The association foresees a 30% to 40% increase in the
participation of private companies in the basic sanitation
sector to serve the urban population in the next ten years,
especially due to the major events to occur in Brazil, such as

Managing Committee. In addition, QGDI conducted
meetings with the Expanded Managing Committee in the
regional offices to align the annual strategy. The meetings
involved the Managing Committee, managers, engineers
and architects.

In 2012, QGOG should receive two new drilling units for
ultra-deep waters to operate for Petrobras, the drill ships
Amaralina Star and Laguna Star. In addition to these, the
company was awarded three other ultra-deep water rigs, in
association with the company Sete Brasil, in the bid carried
out in 2011 by Petrobras for the supply of up to 21 rigs,
which will be built in Brazil in an operation scheduled to start
in 2016.
In the segment of Floating Production, Storage and
Offloading units for oil and gas (FPSO), the company
continues to grow. In 2011, the company, along with its
partners SBM and Mitsubishi, signed a new contract with
Petrobras, for the construction and chartering of the FPSO
Cidade de Ilhabela, which, along with the FPSO Cidade de
Paraty, in which QGOG also participates, will be the largest
and most modern production units to operate in the world.
Excellence in Management
Excellence in drilling services and the completion of oil and
gas onshore and offshore wells significantly contributed
for QGOG to achieve its recertification of its Integrated
Management System (SGI) in 2011. This result confirmed,
once again, that the company complies with and follows the
international requirements of the norms ISO 9001 – Quality
Management, ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
and OSHAS 18001 – Occupational Health and Safety
Management. SGI's main focus is on stakeholders (clients,
shareholders, the community, suppliers and employees), and
the results achieved for Quality, Health, Environment, and
Safety (QSMS) show that the company is on the right track.
QGOG considers safety assurance in its operations
as one of its main objectives. For this purpose, it has
been continuously working on improving its Integrated
Management System, prioritizing aspects related to
risk management in operations. In 2011, the company

Cement
In partnership with an important national economic group,
the company started, in São Luís (MA), the construction of
a milling unit for the production of cement, with production
capacity of 500,000 tons per year. This investment is part of
a plan that aims to reach the production of 8.5 million tons of
cement per year to supply the main consumer markets
in Brazil.
Renewable Energies
The creation of Queiroz Galvão Energias Renováveis (Queiroz
Galvão Renewable Energies - QGER) represents the entry
of the Group in the wind and biomass energy production
segment. This new company was born among the country’s
largest in its sector, with a significant potential for growth
and a sustainability vision.

Biodiversity monitoring and
conservation Program
To keep the integrity of the local wildlife and flora in the
areas of intervention of the CCRB service fronts, a study
is conducted to describe and analyze biodiversity in nearby
areas, registering the occurrence and behavioral aspects
of the wildlife, with emphasis on endemic species. The
consortium seeks to cooperate for the conservation of
flora in the region, in addition to proposing the planting, in
appropriate locations, of species found in the areas
of intervention.
Water treatment system
CCRB's water treatment station reuses all the water
employed in the excavation of tunnels and that would be
discharged. After the treatment, the water returns to the
equipment for reuse. In the station the water is analyzed by
environmental technicians to make sure that it meets certain
parameters before it is returned to the equipment. It should
be noted that 100% of the water used in the excavations of
the Barra/São Conrado tunnel is reused.
Water and oil separating boxes
The separating boxes for water and oil were implemented in
the construction sites of Line 4 of the Rio de Janeiro subway
to separate water and oil in the activities using equipment
such as excavators and jumbos. Effluents resulting from
activities with this equipment are sent to the separating box,
where the oil is collected and sent to refining companies.
There, it is transformed into other products such as grease
and returns to the market. The water separated is sent to the
treatment station and subsequently returns to the processes.

which were a present from the Brazilian government to the
UN headquarters in New York, in 1956. After three years of
effort and coordination involving the federal government,
