Born in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal in May 1977.
I.
•
EDUCATION
Received the Master’s Degree (mestrado) in Law in March 2007 from the
Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa (FDL) [University of Lisbon
Faculty of Law] in the area of Law and Political Science with the thesis
entitled “O Acto Administrativo Inconstitucional − delimitação do conceito e
subsídio para um contencioso constitucional dos actos administrativos” [The
Unconstitutional Administrative Act – delimitation of the concept and
support for a constitutional challenge to administrative acts].
•
Received the Licentiate’s Degree (licenciatura) in Law in 2000 from the same
Faculty in the same area of study.
II.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• Teaching assistant at the Universidade de Lisboa Faculty of Law (has been a
teacher there since October 2000), where she has taught the subjects of
Political Science and Constitutional Law, Constitutional Law I, Constitutional
Law II, Public International Law and Administrative Law II.
• Consultant to the Centro Jurídico da Presidência do Conselho de Ministros
(CEJUR) [Legal Centre for the Presidency of the Council Of Ministers];

• Adjunct to the Office of the Secretary of State of the Presidency of the Council
of Ministers, the member of the government also responsible for the area of
citizenship and gender equality, from October 2005 to February 2007;
• Legal consultant to the National Institute of Railway Transportation from
2000 to 2001;
• Lawyer with the law firm of Sérvulo Correia & Associados (2000/2001),
working particularly in the area of administrative and constitutional
counselling;
• Certified as an educator by the National Skills Certification System since
March 2004;
• Works regularly with the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights
(FRA) as a Portuguese expert in the agency’s areas of intervention.
III.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
• Member of the Pedagogical Council of the Universidade de Lisboa Faculty of
Law since 1998.
• Editorial Coordinator of the newsletter Lexpress (1997/1999).
• Member of the team that represented the FDL at the European Law Moot
Court Competition, EXPO 98, where it was honoured for presenting the “best
written pleadings”.1

• Awarded a merit scholarship by the Chancellor’s Office of the University of
Lisbon for the 1998/1999 academic year.
• Collaborated with and served as secretary of the Instituto de Cooperação
Jurídica [Institute for Legal Cooperation] at the Universidade de Lisboa Faculty
of Law (2002/2003).
• Member of the steering committee for the European Law Moot Court
Competition (1999/2002) when the Universidade de Lisboa hosted the Lisbon
regional finals.
• Member of the editorial committee of the FDL Law Journal.
• Member of the FDL Self-Evaluation Committee in 2008.
• Member of the FDL Statutory Assembly in 2008.
