Limitada respectivamente a Norte e a
Sul pelas Províncias de Manica e Maputo,
a Oeste pela África do Sul e a Leste pela
Província de Inhambane e pelo Oceano
Índico, Gaza estende-se ao longo das bacias do Limpopo e Changane numa planície verdejante que apenas junto à fronteira
com a África do Sul se prolonga em altitude.
A sua situação geográfica torna-a ponto de
passagem obrigatório para quem de Maputo, da África do Sul ou da Swazilândia,
procura as águas mais cálidas das praias a
Norte.
No entanto, Gaza, cuja capital é Xai-Xai
dista apenas 224 Km da cidade de Maputo, com as suas belas praias, complexos
turísticos bem equipados, a espectacular
foz do rio Limpopo e as extensas manchas
verdes do vale deste rio, é um convite para
umas boas férias ou um simples fim de semana relaxante.
Também alguns dos Estabelecimentos Hoteleiros dispõem de estruturas adequadas
para a realização de Reuniões de negócio
ou outros Eventos, associando o trabalho
ao desfrute das atracções que proporcionam.
As etnias predominantes são Changana e
Chopi.
To the north of Gaza is the Province of
Manica and to the South the Province of
Maputo, to the West South Africa, to the
East the Province of Inhambane and the
Indian Ocean, Gaza itself is a flat green
plain stretching along the mouths of the
rivers Limpopo and Changane, rising only
in altitude when nearing the South African
border.
Its geographical situation and the fact that
it has the warmest waters of the Northern beaches make it an obligatory stop for
those travelling from Maputo or South Africa or Swaziland.
At a distance of only 224Km from the city
of Maputo, Gaza, the capital of which is
Xai Xai, is greatly sought after as an ideal
place for a holiday or simply for a relaxing
weekend as it offers numerous attractions
including beautiful beaches, well equipped
tourist complexes, the spectacular estuary
of the river Limpopo and the vast
extension of green wood land along the
valley of the river.
A number of hotels also provide excellent conditions for holding business meetings and other events, and makes it possible to combine business and pleasure.
The main ethnic groups are the Changana,

Limpopo integra o Grande Parque Transfronteiriço do Limpopo (GPTL) que inclui
também o Kruger National Park da África
do Sul e o Gonarezhou National Park do
Zimbabwé.
A barragem de Massingir junto à vila do
mesmo nome.
No delta do Limpopo, podem ser observadas e fotografadas numerosas espécies
de animais no seu habitat.
O Regadio de Chókwè, com os seus
arrozais e outras culturas extensivas, como
o milho e o algodão.
WHAT TO VISIT
Apart from the beaches, the National Parks
of Banhine and Limpopo. The National
Park of Limpopo incorporates the Great
Transfrontier Park of Limpopo (GPTL) and
also the Kruger National Park of South
Africa and the Gonarezhou National Park
of Zimbabwe.
The Missingir dam next to the village of
the same name.
On the Limpopo delta, various species
of animals can be observed and photographed in their natural habitat.
The “Regadio do Chókwè” (the vast
irrigation lands of Chókwè), with its rice,
corn and cotton plantations.

Pela EN 1 a partir de Maputo. Pelas fronteiras de Namaacha, Goba ou Ressano
Garcia, vindo da Swazilândia ou África do
Sul. Por voos charters saindo de Maputo.

EN 1, and via the frontiers of Namaacha,
Goba or Ressano Garcia, when coming

A Província de Gaza dispõe de numerosas
e belas praias das quais se destacam:
- A praia de Xai-Xai, a 10 Km da capital
da Província, que dispõe de um cordão de
rochas em frente à praia que a protege da
ondulação do mar aberto e forma imensas piscinas na maré baixa, onde é possível
apanhar saborosos mexilhões, ostras e
outros moluscos.
- A praia de Chongoene, a 8 Km a norte
da praia de Xai-Xai com características
semelhantes a esta.
- A praia de Zongoene, junto à foz do rio
Limpopo que oferece excelentes oportunidades para a prática de diversas actividades, desde a pesca ao passeio em carros
próprios para deslocação nas dunas.
- A praia do Bilene, junto a extensa lagoa,
no Sul da Província, a
190 Km de Maputo, caracterizada por
águas muito transparentes e areia fina e
branca.
WHERE TO RELAX
The province of Gaza has many beautiful
beaches to choose from, in particular:
- Xai-Xai beach, 10Km from the capital
of the Province. The massive reef parallel
to the beach provides natural protection
against the strong waves and at low tide
small pools are formed where gathering
mussels, oysters and other shellfish is a
favourite pastime.
- Chongoene beach, 8 Km north of Xai-Xai
beach, is very similar and equally attractive.
- Zongoene beach, next to the mouth of
the Limpopo River. Fishing and driving over
the dunes are excellent pastimes on offer
here.
- Bilene beach, near the shores of the vast
Lagoon, south of the Province and 190 Km
from Maputo, is famous for its transparent
waters and fine white sands.
